Hi Folks,

I have installed a Sapphire HD7870 XT Boost and am trying to find the best setup for DCS KA-50 , A-10 etc in the CCC

Am trawling through posts but as yet no joy.

Would I be best off making a separate profile and if so what would be the best settings

(settings in image are random , not mine)

Thanks

Hi Garth,

I use the settings in the Thumbnails, They work good for me with the 7970.

Only difference in mine and what you have in the example is Tessellation AMD Optimized, mine is use app settings. Don't think you need it in DCS

See in game settings as well...

If you use TIR and see tearing on the Canopy frames when turning your head, turn on V-Sync to get rid of it. I usually run V-sync but have it off at present to look at my max FPS..so yeah I am playing around with in game settings.

I have clutter/bushes on zero for now but often turn it up... I can run Distance, Trees and Clutter/Bushes all maxed no problem ...but I have been turning them down lately in the interest of FPS...

Hope this helps

Thanks very much , will try them now .

Daft question probably but if I want to create a separate CCC profile for DCS do I select the C:\Programme Files\ Eagle dynamics\DCS World\Bin\DCS_Updater exe or the Launcher exe ?

Cheers

" but I have been turning them down lately in the interest of FPS..."

With an I7-980 Extreme ??

This processor is quiet amazing indeed, but the problem is that DCS will use only 2 cores. I guess he has a good overclocking maybe? but seriously, DCS maxed out on a 52"... that's demanding :D

And you're welcome Garth!

LOL...not saying I have FPS issues... I am just looking at what I am getting in various situations.

Normally its high 40s-50s in worst situations and 70s-140s in best.

Ok MegOhm, I'll just come back on the OP, I personally let Catalyst as it is, I didn't make any profile. I did some profiles for FC 2 which had no AA but DCS World as already good ingame settings so I don't feel the need to override them. I think it's always better to use the features developped for the game.
