Hello,

can someone please help me ?

I have the Hotas Warthog, CH Pro pedals and TrackIr 3 and want to configure Track Ir in DCS A10 but just can't seem to get it right.

I have read lots of threads where some say it's not possible without editing .lua files or adding hotkey or using Target and other threads say it is possible just in game options without using Target software.

I'd like to add Center, pause and precision Track ir to Hotas buttons, can someone please tell me how to do it the simplest way if possible ?

I also want to add Zoom function to friction axis, I assigned it ok but in game if not full zoom in or full zoom out I get shaking image in cockpit and zoom doesn't work in exterior view, any idea what might be causing this ?

I disabled default zoom in/out keys in game but problem remains

Any help much appreciated.

Not sure about trackir 3 but with trackir 5 and its software you do what you want to do via the tir software, you select the centre, pause etc functions from the menu and then you push a keyboard button you want to assign those controls to or a button on your joystick.

I have zoom mapped to my friction axes and it works perfectly, what you are experiencing is you have two things mapped to do the same things, so they are fighting each other hence the stuttering/shaking.

I think the zoom problem is related to trackir, if i recall correctly you have to change the default trackir zoom axes to something else, I think thats the cause of your zoom problem, cuz i had that shaky stutter zoom problem before.

Its a long time since I have had to do my binds but I am sure the zoom problem is related to. Trackir conflicting with the friction zoom.

I am not sure if friction axes zoom works in external view, i cant recall using it myself as I have always used the mouse for external view zoom.

If you havent fixed it by tomorrow I will jump ingame and show you what my trackir axes and warthog axes look like.

You can map center, pause, and precision to unused buttons on the warthog directly through Tir software. That is the simplest way but potentially uses the most buttons.

In my case i only had one unused button. The paddle on the stick. In my situation i used auto-hot key to map a short press of the paddle to pause and a long press of the paddle to center. I dont use precision mode but do have it mapped to VAC (voice control)

As for the shakeyness from the friction axis, I do not experience that. Check that nothing else is mapped to the axis

From easiest to hardest (in my opinion)

1.Trackir..just map them in the Tir software

2. Auto HotKey (middle ground..a bit of setup but very flexible.

Last Target ( you would have to map everything in target)

Hi bumfire, thank you very much for the quick reply.

I feel a bit noob here, didn't figure I could assign TrackIr options directly from hotas input, as it happens I've managed to assign TIR Center command to hota's pinky switch so now it's just a question of finding 2 other empty buttons in Hotas to assign pause and precision.

I am using track IR V4.4 and it's easy to assign keys and tweak settings. V5 is only for DOF6 expansion which I also have but seem to have lost the track clip so now I'm using it without DOF6 for the moment and so far it seems to be working ok in DCS A10

Regarding the stuttering and conflicting assignments I thought the friction axis had nothing assigned to it, am I wrong ?

Once again, thank you so much, I'm finally going to enjoy the Hotas and the game, this has been driving me nuts for 3 days now.

Best regards

I think I'll be doing the hotkey option and disregard the precision key at least for now, there's a ready made script for it easy to install and configure, right ?

I read about it but didn't want to do it as I'm not familiar with the Hotas and don't want to deviate much from default settings at least until I get acquainted with it and learn how to configure it properly

Best regards

Yes the friction wheel at the top of the warthog throttle doesnt have any axis and doesnt do anything ingame, but the inc-dec lever, the big grey thing that sticks out on the throttle is also for friction, well its used to set friction on the real warthogs throttle, but I use it for zooming in and out.

Basically if you were sitting in a real warthog aircraft, the black friction wheel at the top of our warthog throttles isnt there, the grey inc-dec lever does that job instead and is also named friction.

Slight confusion, but basically the grey lever is also called friction increase - decrease, just that thrustmaster didnt label like it is in the real aircraft as they probably thought two things named "friction" on one throttle would confuse people, so they left it as inc-dec and omitted the word friction that runs vertically next to it.

I was assuming that was the friction axis that you was speaking about.

That's the one I'm talking about, sorry expressed myself wrongly, I'm referring to the incr / Decr slider alongside the throttle.

Managed to get the TIR buttons working but still haven't got rid of the stuttering

I'd like to use the paddle as described for centering and pausing TIR. You mention auto-hotkey, I have no idea what this is??

In TIR I can depress the paddle and it is recognized but it doesn't distinguish between short or long. Thanks for your help.

Ok so I have Autohotkey but I'm not sure how to map the paddle short and long depress to TIR Center and Pause. Any hints, please.
