I was just wondering if u were flying "online" with just one friend on say a two ship flight/mission,and lets say u were half way through it when ur wingman (friend) was shot down if he could rejoin u "inflight" where u was at that time in the mission and not back at the airfield where u both took-off from?

Clutching at straws here maybey..just wondered if it were possible?

p.s and of course there should be some kind of on/off option for the server so pilots couldn't do this while on a dogfight server say in HyperLobby ;)

Sure it -could- be done, but I doubt it will be done ;)

This is already possible kind of. If you add a few flyables in the mission you should be able to jump into those planes. You can also recover into a mission if you aren't recording a track. Don't know if this works for all missions and all Campaigns though.

Realism.

In America's Army you also have to wait until the round is over, now when you play UT 2004, you don't have to. But then again, in UT 2004 the developers don't even expect that the gamers have any form of intelligence, not even to press a reload button for their guns.

I understand that, but then there could be 20 or so players.

I was thinking about a more personal thing i.e just u and 1/2 pilots,

but as i said u "could" have the option to turn it on/off.

Imagine u and a m8 have just hooked up online and not long after u've taken off one of ya get's shot down..its basically flight over..and as for realism, this is more of an "option" for new pilots to "enjoy" the sim at an earlier stage than having to wait a while before getting to grips with the sim..(online experience i'm talking about)

I was just thinking more along the lines of a "playability option" more than the realism side of the sim..if that makes sense? ;)
