razorseal Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 I just DL'd FC3 in hopes of some more 'lax' flying enviroment... well I'm having a problem firing a missile! I'm going to DL the training stuff tonight sooo.... I pick A2A radar (press 2) slew to a target and attempt to lock (enter) I don't think it's working right thought lol once it looks like i'm in range, press weapon release nothing happens! lol?
Exorcet Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 Try holding the button until missile launch. Easiest with F-15C, Russian fighters won't let you launch if they don't like the situation. Awaiting: DCS F-15C Win 10 i5-9600KF 4.6 GHz 64 GB RAM RTX2080Ti 11GB -- Win 7 64 i5-6600K 3.6 GHz 32 GB RAM GTX970 4GB -- A-10C, F-5E, Su-27, F-15C, F-14B, F-16C missions in User Files

Once you lock on the target Press and hold weapon release button for at least 2 second In a Russian fighter, launch the missile after the "LA" symbol appear ok, that did the trick... when you lock onto a target, from RWS (it looks like RWS) shouldn't it go to a TWR or STT though? go to ED's FC training video, to learn more about operate F-15C's radar pretty useful :) Edited June 24, 2013 by Charlie-Tsai The pig is flying! Locking in RWS will go to STT Locking in TWS will just add the target as a primary or secondary track. MonsterZero Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 The fire control system in trying to tell you to close the distance with the target because you're not in range yet. I realize in arcade-type games if you want to launch a "guided missile" you just press the button any time, but that's not how it happen in real aircraft. This is probably a good thing considering the $500,000/per unit cost of a modern guided missile.
