Flagrum Posted August 23, 2013 Posted August 23, 2013 (edited) Sometimes I get a crash after a mission when the programm should go to the debriefing screen. Instead that windows popup "... has stopped working" appears and after pressing Ok, the debriefing screen appears with a dcs popup saying something like "could not open debriefing" and no statistics are shown. This happens not too often, about every 10th or 20th (singleplayer)mission (no matter what a/c was flown; Huey, Hog, Shark). Actually not often enough that I'd really be bothered so far. But now I stumbled upon those .crash logs in the "Saved Games" folder of DCS and there were quite a few of them. When I examined them, they ALL show the same error "ACCESS_VIOLATION" and the same stack trace (at different memory locations, ofc.): # -------------- 20130616-191407 -------------- # C0000005 ACCESS_VIOLATION at E776C863 00:00000000 00000000 00000000 0000:00000000 E776C863 0013E8F0 0000:00000000 ?l_get_argument_value@ccMainPanel@cockpit@@CAHPEAUlua_State@@@Z()+73 FB316F97 0013E930 0000:00000000 lua_yield()+507 FB324A86 0013EAF0 0000:00000000 luaS_newlstr()+44C6 FB317103 0013EB20 0000:00000000 lua_yield()+673 FB3161BF 0013ECA0 0000:00000000 lua_getinfo()+39F FB31718C 0013ECD0 0000:00000000 lua_resume()+7C FB328BA6 0013ED00 0000:00000000 luaL_register()+13D6 FB328C68 0013ED30 0000:00000000 luaL_register()+1498 FB316F97 0013ED70 0000:00000000 lua_yield()+507 FB324A86 0013EF30 0000:00000000 luaS_newlstr()+44C6 FB317038 0013EF60 0000:00000000 lua_yield()+5A8 FB3161BF 0013F0E0 0000:00000000 lua_getinfo()+39F FB31721E 0013F120 0000:00000000 lua_resume()+10E FB312290 0013F170 0000:00000000 lua_pcall()+60 400854A5 0013F1A0 0000:00000000 FA9886B1 0013F230 0000:00000000 FA988B6B 0013F280 0000:00000000 4005C999 0013F310 0000:00000000 4005F42D 0013F370 0000:00000000 400760A4 0013F3A0 0000:00000000 40075F7B 0013F3D0 0000:00000000 40106918 0013F440 0000:00000000 40107DEE 0013FA40 0000:00000000 4010AA1F 0013FAF0 0000:00000000 7749652D 0013FB20 0001:0001552D C:\Windows\system32\kernel32.dll BaseThreadInitThunk()+D 775CC521 0013FB70 0001:0002B521 C:\Windows\SYSTEM32\ntdll.dll RtlUserThreadStart()+21As I said, personally this is no big deal for me, but perhaps it helps to further stabilize our World. edit: Win7 64 Home, 16 GB (-4 GB for a ram disk), GTX 560 Ti 2GB Edited August 23, 2013 by Flagrum

Flagrum Posted August 24, 2013 Author Posted August 24, 2013 R U Running the sim. on the RAM Disk? No, it is installed and running from a hard disk. I only mentioned the ram disk as it reduces the available free RAM, i.e. max. 12 GB is available for windows and applications. Perhaps that matters ... But as I write this ... my TEMP folders are on the ram disk. But I doubt that this is an issue with DCS (i.e. no space left for temp files? doubt it.)
