JaseGill Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 A sad day has passed. A true legend, the epitome of British inventiveness and engineering and 75 years a pilot, not forgetting his Wellington bomber missions in WWII. I was lucky enough to meet him at an RAeS event a few weeks ago and he was amazing. His lecture there is up on the RAeS website and well worth a look. We chatted there and a few days later after an invite I flew up to see him and check out his lair, including his Gyrocopter collection. I truly think his kind are almost gone, either by lack of things left to do or just Health and Safety and other bureaucracy getting in the way. I felt honoured to be there with him at the time and even more so now on hearing of his passing. RIP Ken, you will be missed. I hope the last flight to meet the maker was with blue skies and fair winds.
