JD_LincsUK Posted September 8, 2013 Posted September 8, 2013 (edited) The flashing building issue is visible in the linked video, but this thread is about the runtime errors since patching to 1.2.6 The runtime error occurs apparently randomly during the mission. I get returned to the debriefing screen, where there is a not available message, when I do anything on that screen there is another error, returning to the main GUI. I was testing Bandicam recording when the errors conveniently cropped up again so: http://youtu.be/qbzAlq-OYT0 Edited September 8, 2013 by JD_LincsUK new data
JD_LincsUK Posted September 8, 2013 Author Posted September 8, 2013 Okay - here's an update with the text from the crash dialog. Unless I'm mistaken - and I'm no expert on these things - it looks like the crash is being caused by the starforce UH-1 module: Problem signature: Problem Event Name: APPCRASH Application Name: dcs.exe Application Version: 1.2.6.17746 Application Timestamp: 5225b96f Fault Module Name: uh1_protect.dll Fault Module Version: 5.70.46.4 Fault Module Timestamp: 5225bcb4 Exception Code: 40000015 Exception Offset: 000000000002e2ee OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.768.3 Locale ID: 2057 Additional Information 1: da30 Additional Information 2: da302a0eb92a1fc1b46caeddf6ee8cd3 Additional Information 3: aa1f Additional Information 4: aa1ff99b3b1a36ba1c2b5fd3f22dc77d
Flagrum Posted September 8, 2013 Posted September 8, 2013 The flashing building issue is visible in the linked video, but this thread is about the runtime errors since patching to 1.2.6 The runtime error occurs apparently randomly during the mission. I was testing Bandicam recording when the errors conveniently cropped up again so: http://youtu.be/qbzAlq-OYT0 The video is inaccessible - it's set to "private". Regarding the crash ... have you tried the repair function already?
JD_LincsUK Posted September 8, 2013 Author Posted September 8, 2013 Sorry about that - I thought it wasn't worth making the video public and usually I don't have a problem using private and then embedding the video in a forum, but for some reason I've never been able to insert a YT video in the DCS forums. I'll change the view settings. It actually seems that it might be just this mission that is crashing - I flew the following mission with no problems at all (except the flashing building textures). Still strange that it reports uh1_protect as the culprit, though.
ECV56_Tordo Posted September 8, 2013 Posted September 8, 2013 I had this crash (uh1_protect.dll) too, flying A-10C campaign. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] www.ecv56condor.com.ar AMD Phenom II X4 965 BE 3.4 8Gb Kingston 1333 Nvidia GTX 460 1Gb Saitek X-52 Pro Saitek Ruddels Pedals TIR 5 + Clip Pro Win 7 64b
JD_LincsUK Posted September 8, 2013 Author Posted September 8, 2013 I've been flying Su-25A and -T all evening and no crashes at all. I was flying some practice missions I made with 1.2.5 The texture flashing was present, though - not just buildings but trees too. Framerates were consistently in the 50's regardless of viewpoint. Strangely, my FPS when recording with fraps now drops into the single figures, which is disappointing. I retested the mission where the crash occurred earlier and it is at exactly the same point every time - so there is something in the mission that the sim now doesn't like. I'm mystified as to why I get Russian words in the debrief in Revanche campaign and English in the debrief of my own missions. Maybe 'cos the guy wrote Revanche on a Russian language OS?
