[CLOSED]A-10C game won't play

I just downloaded and installed A-10C and it won't play. Whenever I tried to run the training section the game crashes and I get this message" DCS has stopped working. I tried some other mission and the same thing happens. This is a Steam version.

Yes, I did that and also set on the video to low. That is how I got IL-2 COD to work but it doesn't work for this. I also validated the files via Steam and it says they are all good.

You are using 4 gigs of ram correct? That is getting a little low, try checking out your memory usage while running the game to see if you are running out of ram while you play. Its possible if you have anything running in the back ground, or are playing a large mission that you are running out of memory and that is crashing the game. Try and track your memory usage and see if that is what is happening.

Not sure how to check the memory usage while running the game. It is about 90% finished loading the training mission when it crashes. I used mscofig and turned off everything except the sound, restarted my computer and restarted the game. Same result. What is the recommended RAM for this game?

Well recommended ram is 4 gigs right now, but seems to be the subject of debate, in another thread someone with 4 gigs has noticed that is ram usage climbs to max when the crash occurs, I am afraid thats what might be happening here.

Well, I just found a deal on some ram. So I am going to 16 G. I will see what happens. Should have it next week.

I now have 16 gigs of RAM and the game did the same thing. I did a complete uninstall and re-install and still have the same problem, i.e. the screen goes black about 80% into mission loading, it crashes to desktop and I get the message DCS has stopped loading. When I click on the error message box to close it, that game goes back to it's startup.

Are you still using a 32bit OS?

Can you look in Windows Task Manager and tell me how much Physical Memory its showing?

 

I think even though you installed more memory your OS isnt seeing it.

It shows: Total-3327, Cached-1777, Available-1802, Free-77. Those numbers seem really low since I have 16G of RAM. How do I get Windows 7 to see more memory?

Upgrade to 64 bit, look at the link I posted

 

Now I am sure you can upgrade to 64bit with the same windows key you have, you just need the install media. I am sure if you search it out on the windows website you might find some help with it.
