Okay so I do as my instructor says 5 DEG right rudder 5 DEG nose down for 'Take Off Trim'. I accelerate slowly but as soon as I hit around 70mph the plane whips left too fast for me to correct. Like a tard I slam on the brakes and nose my beauty into the tarmac. I just can't do it! I'm so mad. I can operate the weapon system and I can fly sort good. I almost have the landing down too. The gear is just not structurally sound enough for a nugget like myself but I'll get it one day. It is the 'take off' that is killing me. Do I have to lock the tail wheel? And if so how do I do that?:helpsmilie:

page 130 in your flight manual :)

You can use the left/right wheelbraking to correct direction when you are up to speed and releasing the tail from the ground

Please dont do what he said, that is bad advice. I would rather hold the tail down as the manual says until around 90 mph where it starts to rise on its own. You hold the plane on track by anticipating the torque movements with some soft rudder inputs, not by wheel brakes.

The most important thing is to slightly pull back on the stick so the tailwheel is locked. Then set mp to 46 and counter the torque with slight rudder - the plane will gently lift off and get airborne on it self.
