goonybird Posted January 22, 2006 Posted January 22, 2006 i would like to use Su-30s for an airshow vid, but would like the front seat only to be occupied... would it be possible to go into the model and extract the rear seat occupant? ... i am maybe just past novice as far as skinning goes, can i have a "run-down" on how the model modification would be done?.....thanks in advance:icon_supe [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
britgliderpilot Posted January 22, 2006 Posted January 22, 2006 I'm not sure it's possible. You can't modify the shape of the 3D model, so the pilot shape is likely to be there unless you can hex edit it ou - unlikely. You can change the skin of the pilot . . . you may be able to hex edit the shape file to refer the front seat pilot and back seat pilot to different skins, with the backseater as less obvious, but you'd need to do the same for the helmet as that's not part of the pilot skin. It'd be tricky and I don't know it's possible . . . . will try and do some research into it. I know where I'd start looking to check, at least :) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v121/britgliderpilot/BS2Britgliderpilot-1.jpg

britgliderpilot Posted February 14, 2006 Posted February 14, 2006 got your post from uk forum....now....what's a "hex editor"? ... It's . . . . . actually, I'm not exactly sure. I know what it does, and I know half the opened file is gibberish. I've had a browse and can't find anything so far, unfortunately . . . . http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v121/britgliderpilot/BS2Britgliderpilot-1.jpg
F l a n k e r Posted February 14, 2006 Posted February 14, 2006 Sorry for the intervention, but an hexadecimal editor is like a "special text editor", instead of translate a file in chars it translate in hexadecimal numbers (2 bytes = 16 bits). Hex numbers are 0 to 9 and A B C D E F. You cannot use a simple text editor (like notepad) because it alter the rest of the text, ruining all the structure of the original file. Hope this helps.
goonybird Posted February 14, 2006 Author Posted February 14, 2006 NP!!!...hop on in....hope you like the water....lol....so i guess that there is no way a human can decipher it and accurately intervene? also...thanks again, flanker, for the templates [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
