fitness88 Posted October 10, 2013 Posted October 10, 2013 How do you go about resetting Num5 to the default View Center? Thank you. FC3

fitness88 Posted October 10, 2013 Author Posted October 10, 2013 Sorry, I don't get your question. When you press num5 on your key pad it centres your view looking forward. When I press num5 it looks off to the left.
PeterP Posted October 10, 2013 Posted October 10, 2013 (edited) The easiest way is to just delete your (probably messed up) C:\Users\>YOUR USERNAME<\Saved Games\DCS\Config\View\SnapViews.lua a new will be written after the next simulation start. You also should make yourself familiar how to save a new snap-view:http://en.wiki.eagle.ru/wiki/Snap_views - the link is partially outdated , so I quote the relevant info. Following will only work when you checked "User snap-view saving" in the DCS [Options] >> [Misc.] settings. Customisation Procedure The keystroke RAlt+Num0 (default binding) will save the current view position against the last-selected Snap View, or against the "default" view if that was the last selected. The simplest procedure for customising a Snap View is as follows: Customising a Snap View Set your current view up as you want it saved. Press LWin+NumN - NumN being whichever numeric keypad key you intend customising. Your view will briefly snap to whatever the current snap view setting is for that key, then return to your previous view. Press RAlt+Num0 - The snap view should now be saved. Test it by changing your view, then holding down LWin+NumX - you should see your customised snap view! Customising the Default View Press Num5 to reset your view to the current default. Adjust your view to what you want as the new default but do not use any snap view keys in the process!. If you have TrackIR, you will probably need to shut it off while doing this, otherwise it won't save the view the way you want it! Press RALT+Num0 - your new default view should now be saved. Test it by changing your view, then pressing Num5 - your view should return to your customised default! See here what options you have to move your camera inside the cockpit: "Num/ - RCtrl - RShift" Cockpit Camera Move Back "Num5 - RCtrl - RShift" Cockpit Camera Move Center "Num2 - RCtrl - RShift" Cockpit Camera Move Down "Num* - RCtrl - RShift" Cockpit Camera Move Forward "Num4 - RCtrl - RShift" Cockpit Camera Move Left "Num6 - RCtrl - RShift" Cockpit Camera Move Right "Num8 - RCtrl - RShift" Cockpit Camera Move Up "Num/" FOV- aka Zoom-in "Num*" FOV+ aka Zoom-out "NumEnter" Default FOV aka Zoom "Num0 - RAlt" Save Cockpit Angels ( and make it as default for current snap view in used plane) ...if the info above doesn't solve your problem, please explain your problem more differentiate and give us all info that might can be useful for us to help you better. (when dos it happen/ in which plane/ what did I have done before / my version is ../ ect. ) Edited October 10, 2013 by PeterP
fitness88 Posted October 22, 2013 Author Posted October 22, 2013 Thanks PeterP: For some reason this works fine for all the aircraft except the F15. You can't have 'User snap-view saving' enabled otherwise the HUD gets messed up.
