Mike Cinch Perry Posted January 23, 2006 Posted January 23, 2006 Thrustmaster Cougar The Thrustamster Cougar is the best hands down, and with the price of the Cougar at Compusa it leaves no questions not to pick on up. I love my Cougar! Everyone on the Virtual Thunderbirds Team uses one and as you can see our flying shows how well the cougar performs with the Foxy software as well as setting up your curves on your axis in Lockon. My Cougar is strait out of the box no mods, and as of right now I see not using any mods due to the fact that it is smooth as glass in the controls. So with that said it would be a great add on to your computer if you want realism and the feel of quality and performance in your hands while flying your favorite sim!! Out, Cinch
zaGURUinzaSKY Posted January 23, 2006 Posted January 23, 2006 Hey Mike, have you ever tried CH stuff? Robbie.
Mike Cinch Perry Posted January 24, 2006 Posted January 24, 2006 Yea I have all the CH stuff Combat Stick, Pro Throttle & Pro peds, Loved them but my cougar is #1. I'am looking at selling my combat stick and pro throttle here soon! But great hotas system. But I perfer the Cougar now that I own one hands down one of the best sticks I have used!!! Out Cinch
zaGURUinzaSKY Posted January 24, 2006 Posted January 24, 2006 mmm.. do they sold different version of Cougar? btw I use X52's throttle and CH Fighterstick woth ProPedals.. I bought the cougar at the very begin of production and it was really hard to move. Also the throttle wasn't precisely controllable as the X52's... Robbie.
VMFA-Blaze Posted January 25, 2006 Posted January 25, 2006 I checked out the CompUSA web sight last night and it shows the Cougar as out of stock.... I haven't been to my store in a few days's, but we still had 4 the last time I was there....... I'm going in tomorrow, so I'll find out then if there still available..... ~S~ Blaze intel Cor i7-6700K ASUS ROG MAX VIII Extreme G.Skill TridentZ Series 32 GB Samsung 850 Pro 1TB SATA II ASUS GTX 1080/DIRECTX 12 Windows 10 PRO Thrustmaster Warthog Oculus Rift VR

I bought the cougar at the very begin of production and it was really hard to move. Also the throttle wasn't precisely controllable as the X52's... Sorry! I have tested the X52! It is not a professional Flight Stick such as the Hotas Cougar with his F-16 design and realistic stick control pressure. The Throttle can by calibrate to function correctly with his axis. :D Best Regards Viper System: Intel Core i7-4790, 3,6GHz, 16GB RAM, 128GB SSD, 2TB HDD, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 2GB GDDR5, TM HOTAS Warthog;(MSFFB2 for testing); TrackIR4 +Track Clip Pro; Windows 10 Pro.

I haven't been to my store in a few days's, but we still had 4 the last time I was there....... I'm going in tomorrow, so I'll find out then if there still available..... ~S~ Blaze I was in the store today and yes the Cougars are still on the shelf..... The web site does list the cougar as out of stock, but in reality this is false.... What it really should say is that the sticks are still available but the rebates are no longer in effect...... So the Cougar has defalted back to the original price of 225.00 USD..... So in fact you can still purchase it off the shelf in Compusa..... This in itself is very cool !!!!! ~S~ Blaze intel Cor i7-6700K ASUS ROG MAX VIII Extreme G.Skill TridentZ Series 32 GB Samsung 850 Pro 1TB SATA II ASUS GTX 1080/DIRECTX 12 Windows 10 PRO Thrustmaster Warthog Oculus Rift VR
Johnny555 Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 Used a Saitek X36 USB for about 3 years. It's been a good buy. Had no hardware probs at all. A few software niggles but nothing I couldn't work around. Saw the Cougar at EBuyer UK. £131 inc postage!! So took the plunge. It is an awesome piece of kit. Weighs a ton (all metal). I haven't the time or space to go into the details of how this is the best hotas ever. But if you go to the link below, this site will tell you all there is to know about it. www.cougar.frugalsworld.com
Convertible Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 I have an X52 and was using it up until I got my Cougar. I too did not like the stick so I used the x52 throttle with a logitech stick. I can honestly say that after using the cougar I am hooked. I have been able to fly smoother and tighter than before with much more control. I will not be going back to my original set up. Also as Cinch mentioned, all the Virtual Thunderbirds use the cougar exclusively. Check out our forums for the announcement of a deal with Thrustmaster Guillemot, the makers of the Cougar http://forum.virtualthunderbirds.com/viewtopic.php?t=683. In conjunction with this announcement, when you go to CompUSA look for our sticker on the Hotas Cougar box on the shelves. http://forum.virtualthunderbirds.com/viewtopic.php?t=694. I would definately say to give it a shot. :) Convertible
ViperVJG73 Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 The Cougar is the best realistic Flight Stick. All other are mainstream ware. I have tested it. :D Best Regards Viper System: Intel Core i7-4790, 3,6GHz, 16GB RAM, 128GB SSD, 2TB HDD, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 2GB GDDR5, TM HOTAS Warthog;(MSFFB2 for testing); TrackIR4 +Track Clip Pro; Windows 10 Pro.
