Aviators Posted October 12, 2013 Posted October 12, 2013 I need a joystick from overwork, at home I have the hotas warthog and since I do not want to spend too much I opted between these two 1) PC Joystick Flight Stick X http://www.amazon.it/PS3-PC-Joystick-Flight-Stick/dp/B000U1OOH4/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1381496560&sr=8-2-fkmr0&keywords=thrustmaster+hotas+T+flight+x 2) JOYSTICK T-16000M - THR http://www.amazon.it/ThrustMaster-2960706-JOYSTICK-T-16000M-THR/dp/B001EAWNKK/ref=sr_1_fkmr1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1381496560&sr=8-1-fkmr1&keywords=thrustmaster+hotas+T+flight+x then there would also be the microsoft sidewinder force feedback 2, but I'm not sure to take it (at auction) which do you recommend for DCS and FSX? Thick8 Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 I have one similar to the first one. Mine is the older silver colored HOTAS model that splits into two pieces so you can have the throttle and rudder on your left side. It worked very well for several years till I replaced it with the saitek GA yoke and throttle. Which I then replaced with a Warthog. Both of those controllers now reside in the attic. I should probably put those up on Ebay. lxsapper Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 I also had an Afterburner two, it was very pleasent until the pots went spiky. But I've tested one recently and the percision was nowhere near the standards I now must have. Can't speak fot the FS X specificaly but unless it has updated electronics and it's not just a rebrand I'd stear clear. Never tried the T.16000 but it has a great reputation, it has HALLs instead of pots and the gimball mechanism is similar to the Warthog. Of the warthog I can speak, it's a great Gimball sistem AFAIC. Not perfect but very good, it has a bit of play in the center but it has the best center feel I ever tried in a spring centered stick, smoth transition with no bumps.

You are right but you can take off the bottom plate and spray some electrical parts cleaner in them, then hit them with some compressed air and they're good as new. I did this about every six months with daily flying.
