Dr_Arrow Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 I don't know how others have it by Mi-8 mirrors kill my FPS much more than any other aircraft in the sim. At times over bigger cities the mirrors take 50-60% of FPS. With mirrors off I never get under 30 FPS with my current set-up and settings with mirrors on I got to 14 FPS over Novorosiysk. Would it be possible to add an option for lower details in the mirrors (it looks awful having them black when they are off)?.

159th_Falcon Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 Its a well known issue that mirrors are performance hogs. I believe the "ress of cockpit displays" also affects them so setting that to a lower value might help if you insist on keeping them on. I just put em off though, prefer the extra FPS over the eye candy in this case. Would be nice if they could replace the black of the mirrors whit something else though. I have it on lowest setting (256), but Mi-8 mirrors seem always to be on some higher setting, no matter how I set display resolution the mirrors are still the same.
ophiuchus Posted October 26, 2013 Posted October 26, 2013 Some shiny silverish texture would be nice ;) Just like in old time FPShooters ;) I turned of HDR an suddenly FPS started to seem at normal level. However weapons visible in mirrors hit frames pretty much the same as HDR.
