warthogmadman987 Posted January 25, 2006 Posted January 25, 2006 I am confused-what is this-(i read the post)
T-Bone Posted January 25, 2006 Posted January 25, 2006 I like the idea, but I still think there needs to be a better system of incentive for online cooperation. The system that is employed by Virtual Online War in IL-2 for instance is incredible. They have a point system that ranks you against other pilots based on more than just a kill count. Squadrons of pilots can register or you can sign up as a mercenary for any country. In effect if you combined the features of CAW with LOMAC-League you'd get a great online system that would really bring the LOMAC online community to life. 504MrWolf Posted January 25, 2006 Author Posted January 25, 2006 yeah but staffing these projects is hard enough without adding more work, CAW is just primarily an online campaign for Squadrons to join up and fly together. But non-squad pilots can join up and fly with the squads too, the workload for this alone was what hindered the progress of CAW. We aim to make this simpler for this new chapter but just as engaging and fun ! We didnt have much of an incentive problem in the last 2 CAW seasons so i dont want to add more workload with a system of ranks, but i will look into VOW2 but i feel it will need extensive php coding for the ranks and scoring system. Plus the il2 community is huge and the game can easily support this type of COOP i dont think LOMAC can. Wolf. www.VVS504.co.uk www.lockonskins.co.uk
504MrWolf Posted January 26, 2006 Author Posted January 26, 2006 also with the advent of (504)Zorlacs stats system maybe it could be used/edited to help add ranks to CAW. Maybe a scoring system could be devised ? We allow "Mercs" (un-squad pilots) to join and fly with squadrons. www.VVS504.co.uk www.lockonskins.co.uk
192nd_Erdem Posted January 26, 2006 Posted January 26, 2006 Do the mercs get used as bait/chaff ? All I can say is, LOL

T-Bone Posted January 26, 2006 Posted January 26, 2006 One thing we are thinking about for the future of the Black Sea Operations project is to expand the campaign online for a truly massively online campaign system. The system will be like a mix of LOMAC league and CAW except it will have advanced logging features and a points system like the IL-2 online wars. Keep your eyes peeled. Shaman Posted January 26, 2006 Posted January 26, 2006 One thing we are thinking about for the future of the Black Sea Operations project is to expand the campaign online for a truly massively online campaign system. We'd need a very good automated webpage. I'd love to see some RPG elements in that (points system with promotions and medals, access to more expensive planes, weapons, and more significant flights) Not enough people though :( And no dedicated server from ED. Also very laggy and low fps enviroment when it comes to large ops. 51PVO Founding member (DEC2007-) 100KIAP Founding member (DEC2018-) :: Shaman aka [100☭] Shamansky tail# 44 or 444 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] 100KIAP Regiment Early Warning & Control officer
T-Bone Posted January 27, 2006 Posted January 27, 2006 We're going to limit it to 2v2 and 4v4 online missions for testing. However, we may increase it to 8v8 missions if possible. Also don't forget a person can do a lot with simple Microsoft Excel sheets. In time the webpage will be automated, but for the time being they will be probably be updated by hand. Here is a draft of our plan. All is up in the air right now and will depend on the success of the Black Sea Operations single player campaign. B S O W BLACK SEA ONLINE WAR EPIC BATTLES. EPIC HEROES.
