Greetings, pilots

Lately I've been working with the A-10C a lot, and flying at high altitudes makes it difficult to spot targets. I usually use the numpad * and / keys for zoom, but its difficult finding it. So, i decided I would try to map it to that hat switch on the throttle, with down for zoom in, up for zoom out, left for zoom out slow, and right for zoom in slow. It shows up to work just fine on the controls page, but in game, its unresponsive, and doesn't work, as if I never mapped it in the first place.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

hey there... I had the zoom working with my x52, no problems. Suggest possibly to go back into 'options / controller' , delete existing commands for zoom, re-program zoom, quit the sim, do a restart and see if that convinces it!

good luck!

I'll give it a go right now. What do you have it mapped to?

Edit: Didn't work, still not zooming.

on my x52 it was mapped to one of the three rocker switches at the base of the stick... now using the Thrustmaster HOTAs, mapped to a hat switch... I always used the 'zoom in slow' / 'zoom out slow' function.... good luck

Tigersden,

When i had my X52 i had it mapped to the slider on the throttle.

If you want to try this just go to the axis commands for A 10c Sim in the options. At the bottom is zoom. Under the X 52 column double click on the space for zoom. Then in the dropdown box select joy_slider1. hit ok. If you need to after testing you can adjust the deadzone and tune the axis to you're liking.

this also happened for me... it seems the slider works in 'increments' and if you're between one increment and the next, you'll get 'stutter'...

Right. So, [taken from other (same) thread] I tried rotary, slider or buttons before. But the best solution for me is using mini-stick. Here, my commands and bands.
