Samri39 Posted October 27, 2013 Posted October 27, 2013 Hi all, I was hoping someone could help me out here? I am slowing becoming more familiar with the Mission Editor and have a question about the: “Set Internal Cargo” trigger action. Firstly, does this action control all internal weight, ie 2 x Pilots plus 2 Crewmen, plus self-loading freight etc, or just the troops and cargo? Does the Basic weight in the mission set up, only include empty weight, + Fuel and Weapons / Ammo etc? or does it also include the “crew”? If it does include crew, say for a slick…does it only include the 2 Pilots as no Loadmasters / Crew Chiefs are shown in the back? If no crew are included in the Basic weight, then I would assume you would have to start the mission with a Set Internal Cargo Trigger for the desired number of crew members. ie 2 x pilots and say 2 x Air Crewmen for a slick. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Vigilance
Lizzard Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 I think you think about that way to complicated..this command just adds a certain amount of load to your "standard" Huey. I don`t know what the standard value is, but if you use the Trigger it just adds the amount you told it to do My Specs: I don`t care..it is a Computer..a black one..
Samri39 Posted October 31, 2013 Author Posted October 31, 2013 Hi Lizzard, Thanks for your reply……I think you’re right ;-) After I engaged my brain, (and yes it hurt!!), it wasn’t that hard to answer my own question. I am just trying to put together some realistic (typical) sorties based on my time flying and instructing on them when I was in the military. Performance is a very significant consideration at high weights in the ‘ol girl. For anyone who is interested: The Mission editor “Empty Weight” (which by definition does not include crew), in fact does. From memory, a typical empty weight is approx. 5700- 6000 lbs (ish). The M/Editor empty weight is 6923lbs…so about 4 x 230 lbs for crew. (Sounds about right with Helmets, vests, egos and Chocky bars etc). Note this is the same if there is physically no rear crew showing, like in the slick. So….depending on environmental conditions, that leaves about 2500 lbs for Fuel plus Payload (or weapons). So, say for a slick - 9 troops in patrol kit plus 500 lbs of gas). As Lizzard says.."Set Internal Cargo" adds to the Mission Editor Empty weight. Vigilance
Cibit Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 I have used this parameter in some of my own missions and its amazing that it makes T/O and flight more difficult. Very useful function when used with the CTTS script:thumbup: i5 8600k@5.2Ghz, Asus Prime A Z370, 32Gb DDR4 3000, GTX1080 SC, Oculus Rift CV1, Modded TM Warthog Modded X52 Collective, Jetseat, W10 Pro 64 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Adding JTAC Guide //My Vid's//229th AHB
nickexists Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 How can I choose which helicopter gets weight added to it? I'm working on a MP mission with Hueys and Mi8s. but I don't see anywhere to specify which aircraft should have its weight changed.
Cibit Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 You have to use triggers and name each unit you want cargo weight added to IIRC. Would have to fire up ME to be sure i5 8600k@5.2Ghz, Asus Prime A Z370, 32Gb DDR4 3000, GTX1080 SC, Oculus Rift CV1, Modded TM Warthog Modded X52 Collective, Jetseat, W10 Pro 64 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Adding JTAC Guide //My Vid's//229th AHB
Socket7 Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 (edited) The triggers menu doesn't seem to have any method of telling what helicopter should get the cargo weight. If there is a way to do it, I'm not clever enough to figure it out (I'm not very clever). I looked for a cockpit argument that might be assignable to a specific unit, but came up empty handed. Cibit Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 (edited) Play around but you can use alternative arguments to get the same conclusion In the example I added, you can see I use the zone where I pick up plus speed less than 10m/s to add cargo to that aircraft (Cib) It may be beneficial to have units height less than 0 so you don't add weight whilst flying and suddenly become unstable Clone the trigger and name all the helo's you want to add cargo to. I am rubbish at explaining but hopefully it will point you in right direction:) EDIT: added mission in case you want to see what I did:thumbup:Troop lift UH-1h.miz Edited February 16, 2015 by Cibit i5 8600k@5.2Ghz, Asus Prime A Z370, 32Gb DDR4 3000, GTX1080 SC, Oculus Rift CV1, Modded TM Warthog Modded X52 Collective, Jetseat, W10 Pro 64 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Adding JTAC Guide //My Vid's//229th AHB
Socket7 Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 I stole the trigger arguments for landings from the MI-8 campaign. ;) Specifically, Unit inside zone: Alt lower than: unit speed lower than: unit vertical speed lower than: X:Cockpit argument in range: Argument:36 (rotor pitch), Min:0 Max:0.3 In my screenshot, when the landing triggers are satisfied, flag 2 gets set, then 10 seconds after flag 2 is set, it loads the cargo. This is all well and good for single player, but I don't know what would happen in multi. Because you can't tell the ME to specify what unit to add the weight too, I'm assuming its added to whatever unit initiated the trigger? Practice makes perfect.

xxJohnxx Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 Name each client helicopter and clone same trigger for each one. Changing the name of unit to correspond to each of the client hueys Nope, that doesn't work. The Set Internal Cargo command is not usable in multiplayer. When triggered, nothing happens.
