Hi all. I am new to the DCS system. I have installed some new liveries for the P51 D Mustang but the mission editor will not allow me to save any changes. I change the aircraft livery and then click the save file button. When I try to exit the mission builder it says I have unsaved changes. I click yes on the prompt but this fails to save any changes. Only way to exit mission editor is to click no and lose all changes. Help!

Thanks,Scream.

Make sure the save location is correct. When I create missions, I place the mission on the desktop. If I load a mission and make changes then press save it asks me to specify the path. Once I set it to the desktop, that becomes the default save location. once the mission is complete I cut and paste in it's own folder so that I can keep seperate missions and scripts. If this does not help, then I don't know.

Thanks Winfield, Does that mean that the only way to use a different livery for a mission, say for example in a quick mission, free flight, is to create a new mission? Is there a way you can just select a different livery within the standard missions. Sorry about all this, just a little confusing after coming over from Cliffs Of Dover, must be a lot of us trying to find our way around things since the start of the DCSWW2 project. All I want to do is just fly with a different paint job!

Cheers, Scream.

This happens to me occasionally, and it has to do with Windows permissions. The reasons are due to to some re-installation and changing directories, but it turned out I didn't have full write permissions to the directory that all the default training missions were in. It behaved in exactly the manner you're describing.

You might check to make sure you have full read/write/delete permissions for the directory, and - if this isn't the case - add those permissions, or change the missions directory to one you create while not in Administrator mode.
