Every so often I see a flashing "NOTE" in the lower part of the HUD where the compass scale normally is.

I know I can get rid of it with TMS LEFT SHORT but what is it trying to tell me?

If the EO sensor has been on too long since alignment started you will see the note. Cycle EO power. If a wingmen sends you a message, you will see the note. Check your messages...

Mavericks, can only operate for 30 mins, after that the seeker performance starts degrading.

Too bad that this isn't modelled in DCS. Especially as you actually can configure that EO power is applied automatically, depending on either time of flight (i.e. power on after x minutes), distance to ... IP? Tgt?, and even your heading (i think. like, you fly heading 90 towards your IP, then turn to target for your run in to i.e. 45. You configure EO power on for when your heading is 45)

Look at your MFCD in the lower right hand corner. You'll see a message in reverse video (usually black text on white background saying "CHECK EO TIME" which means your Maverick seeker has been on a long time.)

When you follow JTAC procedures (receiving info then readback) the JTAC sends info, also resulting in the "NOTE" popup

When a JTAC sends data, it will say "MESSAGE" instead of "NOTE". I do believe that what I was seeing is related to the Maveric being on too long, it always seemed to happen well into the mission.
