Elnocho3 Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 Love the idea of a full interactive map for DCS with charts and distance measuring tools. As a side note. You might have already seen the really cool interactive topographical map by [FSF]Ian, which merges a DCS surface map with the TAD maps, if not, check it out here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=121105 Touch support is mentioned but I haven't tried it. Would be great to add popup pdf charts to that map PC spec: i9 9900KS @ 5.1ghz, 32GB RAM, 2 TB NVME M2, RTX 3090 Peripherals: TM Warthog, Saitek Pro Flight Pedals, Rift S, Custom UFC
spaceraver Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 Now this I like.. Maybe you can work with [FSF]Ian to make 2 "apps" become one? Then this would be the only thing needed as kneeboard.. Anything with a Rotary Wing is fun and challenging. Use SRS radio. thinkr Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 (edited) Toad You are the Man! Fundamental / Multi-platform / Genius~ Now who will take this further! I have since created an entire binder to use for DCS & FC3 which has worked out great but it isn't a touch screen so I have to flip the pages oldskool:P I would love to implement the idea with a touch interface. This is Fantastic and amazing Toad +Rep Inboud! I would love to advance it a little for one module an maybe even make a video tutorial on how to edit it for the illiterate or just plane lazy! Shaman Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 Use Locus for Android and import your ANY flight maps. Instead of building who tool from scratch we can use this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=menion.android.locus.pro&hl=en, it's functionality beats hands down features I have ever seen in any other mapping apps. There are already RL pilot communities. 51PVO Founding member (DEC2007-) 100KIAP Founding member (DEC2018-) :: Shaman aka [100☭] Shamansky tail# 44 or 444 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] 100KIAP Regiment Early Warning & Control officer
Bourrinopathe Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 (edited) The DCS World Encyclopedia from the Google Play store does almost exactly what is suggested in the OP. You can : - tap an airport on the map to bring the diagram and details - add personal notes to the airport/airbase description/details - zoom in/out - display the diagram in full screen - pin any airport/airbase to the main drop down list It's a very neat app you should check out. It's also regularly updated (it's been updated a few hours ago). I also encourage you to buy the cheap Premium version to support the developer. (iirc everything is included in the "free" version - unless it's the "favorites" or "notes" functionalities?) Bourrinopathe Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 The app has been recently updated! You can now add your own picture to each entry. For example, you can add a satellite view or any other diagram to the airports data (in addition to your notes) (the image is displayed in fullscreen mode when you tap the miniature/preview). The new sorting options for the favorites are also very welcome. And, there's a font size slider, but I'm not sure it's new. Another feature I like is the "over lock screen" display option. The app can stay on top of your lock screen. That way, your device is safe while using or sharing the app with anyone. Lovely app! /// ВКБ: GF Pro MkII+MCG Pro/GF MkII+SCG L/Black Mamba MkIII/Gladiator/T-Rudder MkII | X-55 Rhino throttle/Saitek Throttle Quadrant | OpenTrack+UTC /// ZULU +4 /// /// "THE T3ASE": i9 9900K | 64 GB DDR4 | RTX 2080ti OC | 2 TB NVMe SSDs, 1 TB SATA SSD, 12 TB HDDs | Gigabyte DESIGNARE mobo ///
