Repeating previous mission in FC3 campaign?

Hi,

I have a question about the campaign structure in FC3. I just finished the Instant Action mission, ‘F15C Intercept’ and plan to start the campaign for the F15C but have heard that if I don’t take out a certain amount of enemies in the missions I will have to redo the previous mission. Is this correct? If so and I quit the mission before being shot down and hitting the ground will I still have to redo the mission before?
