Two things occurs to me BBQ

As your missiles fire ok but then just go dead...off to one side

1. There is no 'TA' above the 'C' in the Skhval. So the electronics don't seem to have a perfect lock.

2. An interfering lazer would send your missile off...Is there another missile around or does the AI have a jamming effect?

Hope that helps

The wind's the culprit, or was in my case anyway - had this happen during a particular mission where I had a strong crosswind going & pushing the Vikhrs to the side. Tweaked the weather a tad and presto! No more Vikhr misses :)

Video shows classic signs of crosswind interference to me.

What is happening here is that the Vikhrs are being blown sideways out of the "tunnel" of the laser beam being projected from the helicopter to the target.

There are 2 things you can do that will help to correct this.

The first is to yaw slightly into the wind when firing, so that the vikhr is able to find center in the beam faster. in strong wind, the lag time between when the single control surface is aligned to correct and the short time of alignment produces strong positive-feedback oscillations. the truer the path on launch, the less pronounced this effect will be.

The second thing is to allow the helicopter to sideslip with the wind. This will keep the beam moving laterally and allow the missile more leeway to correct.

Is there anything that you can do about the crosswind interference. I guess you could just move to a point where you will be firing either up or down wind, is there anything else?
