uscav19d Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 I played BS1 when it came out, and I'm getting back into the DCS games after missing out for a while. I just purchased and downloaded Black Shark 2 on Steam, and when I try to run a mission it cuts over to a screen asking for a key to activate the game. I have no idea where to find this serial number, Steam didn't prompt me with one and I can't find anything online for it. A-10C didn't do this, I'm not sure whats going on here. Where do I find this damn key?

Aerovenator Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 (edited) I bought BS2 via the DCS homepage and tried to add the key to my Steam library with no avail. I had no problem with the other modules (Mi-8, UH-1). BS2 is not an upgrade of an existing BS1 installation. Any hints?? Edit: Maybe its because Steam is offline :) Edited January 3, 2014 by montypython76 Update I7-9700K -- 32GB RAM -- RTX 4070 -- Virpil T-50CM3 Throttle + WarBRD Base -- Thrustmaster TPR -- Quest 3
Pigwiggen Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 I bought BS 2 upgrade as a download from DCS and despite being able to insert my Serial key, and apparently activating BS 2, I still see only Version 1 on the flash screen. Any solutions to this? I have been mailing back and forth with their IT team but they haven't enabled me to overcome this problem. In summary, I've paid for it, activated it but am not enjoying it! But activation still don't work. It says "invalid product key" Licenses purchased from ED/GameFly do not work on Steam right away, Steam is sent a Database List of Valid Active License keys every 30 days, Then you have to wait for Steam to integrate the valid serials into their database. c0ff can explain it better, Pretty sure he already has, use the Search function. If you wanna play on steam it's best to buy from steam, if you want to play With Multiple sources of Licenses, it's best to use the standalone DCS. My Standalone DCS has Modules Purchased from ED, GameFly and Steam. BS2 Upgrade is Standalone from BS1. You have to Boot BS2 or Use DCSWorld w/ BlackShark2 Module.
