pbpullman Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 Sorry if it sounds like a naive question, but i've been having mission glitches lately and I thought this might be the first question to ask. When looking for single missions on DCS website's User Files, there is a filter option to choose between these two separate games. So would a mission under the A-10C game also work under DCS: World as long as I had the A-10c module installed?
Paganus Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 Changes made to the sim over time tend to break older missions. If you want to have a better chance of an old one working, 1st load it into the current DCS mission editor. Save it inside the editor. Then give it a run. Some will work and some wont.
cichlidfan Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 As said, older missions will likely have issues. You can look at the upload date to get a feel for the odds of it working. pbpullman Posted December 20, 2013 Author Posted December 20, 2013 Thanks to both of you, too bad though it reduces the number of flyable missions...at least as published on DCS... wonder if there's another database somewhere people save DCS and FC3 stuff?
Grimes Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 It depends on how old the mission is. Anything made with DCS A-10C should be compatible and require little to no adjustment to get everything to work, resaving it should be enough. Some changes to the sim my cause different results, for instance buildings now require more bombs to destroy so a mission may have been setup with the weaker payload in mind. Missions made with Black Shark 1/FC2 require a fair amount modification because the entire tasking system for AI changed from BS1 to A-10C. The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world.
