sc275 Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 (edited) I put two opposing sides of infantry against each other (insurgents allied with US against Georgians allied with Russia) and they do not engage each other. I'm using the latest 1.2.7 open beta. I tried setting both Rules of Engagement to weapons free but they still do not engage. The track is attached. At this time I'm not sure if this is a glitch or just my version of the game which is why this isn't posted in the Bug subforum. If this is a bug feel free to move this thread moderators.test.trk Edited December 21, 2013 by sc275
Paganus Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 I just did a quick test and had the same result with stationary infantry that start within range of each other. They don't attack. If you have them enter each others range, either group or both groups moving, they stop at the edge of each others range and engage.

I tested it with 1.2.6 and there they engage each other immediately. On the other hand, I tried to make my own mission with the same setup ... and that worked also immediately.

I've made several 1.2.7 missions with infantry and they refuse to engage each other.
ED Team Raptor9 Posted January 8, 2014 ED Team Posted January 8, 2014 (edited) I'm using the latest 1.2.6 version and I've seen issues as well. I have a FOB in a valley, with two groups of insurgents moving into small-arms range. As soon as they get within range of their weapons, they stop, but do not engage anything. Second time around I had them spawn already within weapons range and they attacked without issue. Another problem I've noticed, at least with "Insurgents" is that they remain in the kneeling posture, even when moving across the ground. Has anyone else seen the infantry not standing up or walking in 1.2.6.20768? EDIT: After doing a more thorough search, I discovered that not all infantry units have walking animations...shucks. Seems like such a basic thing to have. Edited January 8, 2014 by Raptor9 Afterburners are for wussies...hang around the battlefield and dodge tracers like a man. DCS Rotor-Head
