cfarsr Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 I may be getting ahead of myself here about the x52 Pro I just ordered but I have a few questions you all can hopefully answer that I couldn't find answers either in the manual or elsewhere. I ordered the unit a few days ago and waiting but anticipate these questions will slow me down when I get it. I'll be transitioning from a Cyborg X to the x52 Pro and plan to use the SST program supplied with the unit. With that said I spent some time compiling my wishlist for the commands I plan on feeding into the program but don't know the following: 1) How do I load the profile for use in the sim? (A10c specifically). In other words, if I "activate it" before opening DCS: World, how do I make it functional in the sim? 2) Can I assign the mouse to slew or POV view, likewise its "left click button" to view centered? If so, how? 3) Can I assign the scroll wheel (smaller black one with invisible clicker) as the same function as the mouse wheel? 4) Can I assign the boat switch to a scroll wheel and its "center" position as the button within the wheel? That should take care of the questions for now. Many thanks, Chris
Blech Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 Hi, Some players have problems to get the x52 working If your motherboard has USB 3.0 - check the manufacturer-homepage for the latest USB 3.0 Driver http://www.saitek.com --> Downloads/Software Be sure to get the latest driver and install : 1) Saitek_X52Pro_Flight_Controller_7_0_27_13_x64_Drivers.exe 2) Smart Technology 7_0_27_13 64Bit.exe Do not connect the x52 before you are asked SST software installs 2 programs : * Profileditor Profiles are ending with ????.pr0 ( A10.pr0 / Marks A10C.pr0 / ... ) Path for the profiles : C:\Users\Public\Documents\SmartTechnology Profiles * Profiler Start the Profiler before DCS All profiles in C:\Users\Public\Documents\SmartTechnology Profiles are listed Choose your profile for the plane you want to fly Start DCS Profiles do not contain the axis-commands You have to setup the axis-commands in DCS one time for every plane and it`s modes ( real / game ) Guess, you knew it from your Cyborg X Last picture http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=83684 Profiles from the internet : X52 vs X52 Pro On the first look - X52 is not compatible with X52 Pro A x52-profile seems to be empty - but all commands are there 2 ) I guess the mouse is restricted to a few commands ( option to add mouse-buttons ) For me it was not possible to set "View center num5" to a mouse-button 3 ) Don`t know 4 ) It works - I have on the mouse-wheel Mode 1 BOAT Forward TGP FLIR black hot / MAV black symbols Click TGP CCD / MAV force Correlate - Auto Back TGP FLIR white hot / MAV white symbols Mode 2 PINKY Forward Default External Lights - on Click External Lights - off Back Lights according to Panel Be carefull using commands with the Slider and the Rotaries - look to the internet for tips They are more for pitch, trim and yaw settings than for commands I tried it and freezed my pc
cfarsr Posted December 27, 2013 Author Posted December 27, 2013 (edited) By mouse wheel you mean the smaller black wheel you can't see? I will try and set up the trim to the two bigger wheels and the boat to the mouse if that is the case. Good suggestion. I'll check my USB ports but I believe I have a mix. Thanks for the heads up. Thanks for reminding me, can I set the small slider on the throttle to zoom? No TrackIR for me unfortunately. Many thanks so far, Chris Edited December 27, 2013 by cfarsr re read post and answered my own question about loading profile
Blech Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 Hi, By mouse wheel you mean the smaller black wheel you can't see? Yes, on the backside of the left throttle-unit I made a test : Silder as Directional Axis + Zoom in - Zoom out Had no reaction ?! Slider as Bands 0-33 % - Zoom out 33-67 67-100% + Zoom in Worked, but not very sensitive with the standard-band You will have to test it out with other bands ( 0-45 / 55-100 ? )
cfarsr Posted December 27, 2013 Author Posted December 27, 2013 Would selecting zoom view under the category of axis commands work?
Blech Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 Hi, Zomm view Joy_Slider1 Is working in the axis-commands Good idea. I stopped working with the Silder and the Rotaries after problems - so I never saw the possibility.
VTJS17_Fire Posted January 1, 2014 Posted January 1, 2014 Hi, maybe my tutorial can help you, too. I did a videotutorial how to use the SST software for programming profiles. It's in german, but without audio you get some tips, tough. 9LZxDIjOiqM kind regards, Fire Hardware: Intel i5 4670K | Zalman NPS9900MAX | GeIL 16GB @1333MHz | Asrock Z97 Pro4 | Sapphire Radeon R9 380X Nitro | Samsung SSDs 840 series 120GB & 250 GB | Samsung HD204UI 2TB | be quiet!
