howie87 Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 Just wondering if there is any difference in game between the two? I know that functionality wise they're the same (in game) but I prefer the look of the 184 because it looks like it would have less weight/drag. Is there any truth in this?

howie87 Posted January 14, 2014 Author Posted January 14, 2014 Should be 260kg for the 131 and 209kg for the 184 from those manuals.
JayPee Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 In real life the 184 is an improved version over the 131. In DCS however, ECM functionality is simplified and so far I have not been able to notice a difference. If for realism's sake you want to immitate a jet of which the squadron's using either one, pick that one. i7 4790K: 4.8GHz, 1.328V (manual) MSI GTX 970: 1,504MHz core, 1.250V, 8GHz memory
Eddie Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 In real life the 184 is an improved version over the 131. Not that simple actually. Both are effective, depending on the threats in question. The same goes for the long/short and shallow/deep variations of the pods. It's not that one is better, or newer, than the other. Just different pods for different missions and/or threat systems.
badger66 Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 I was led to believe that the only difference was visual ?
Eddie Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 I was led to believe that the only difference was visual ? In DCS, yes.
