jhagge Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Hello, I've had the ThrustMaster Warthog HOTAS for about a month or so and I've never been able to set a push to talk on the throttle. I have seen other threads that tell you to put all switches into neutral/off position. I have tried that technique, but to no avail. I have the T.A.R.G.E.T software from ThrustMaster, But I have no clue how to use it and I do not know if it can even help me with the problem. I would like to set my push to talk button to the mic switch up on the throttle. system properties 3.4GHz Intel Core i7-2600 Quad-Core 8GB (4x2GB) RAM Gigabyte AMD Radeon HD 7950 3GB GDDR5. 500W PSU 1.5TB Hard Drive Windows 7 Home Premium System Properties: MSI z97-g45 gaming motherboard 4.0 GHz Intel Core i7-4790k Quad-Core Corsair Vengeance 8GB (4x2GB) RAM Gigabyte AMD Radeon HD 7950 3GB GDDR5 Corsair RM750W PSU. That should be pretty straightforward with the current TS3 client. No need to use TARGET for this. See these screenshots. Works like a charm, and it doesn't seem to matter what position the switches on the throttle base are in. Edited March 27 by Yurgon Removed Screenshots
jhagge Posted January 16, 2014 Author Posted January 16, 2014 I know how to set a new PTT, the thing is when I try pushing any buttons on my HOTAS it does not set the key. Thats my real problem. jhagge Posted January 16, 2014 Author Posted January 16, 2014 I found out that my TS3 is on Keyboard and mouse and that is the reason why it was not picking up input from HOTAS. thank you for support. TheThumper Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 If you are still having problems, I also had issues there. What I found out was that some switches on the Thrustmaster were not in an "off" state, by that I mean having the flaps switch in the "up" position is not in an "off" state if you look at the settings in Game Controller Devices. Once I opened up the Game Controller devices dialog and moved all the switches in order to have all in the "off" state, I could then successfully assign and use a PTT switch with my Thrustmaster with TS. I guess with any of the other switches seen as in the "On" state, TS didn't know which to use really. Hope this helps ~Thump. I tried to assign Mic switch up as PTT with wild combinations of other switches on the throttle, and it worked every single time. I could even hold the speedbrake switch in the back position, then click "Assign Hotkey" in TS, assign Mic switch up and let go of the speedbrake once the assignment was done and I had no problems there. Of course that doesn't mean such a problem doesn't exist for others. I'm just saying I don't seem to have this particular problem. Could it have to do with device firmware? According to the TARGET GUI, my Warthog throttle currently runs with FW 20 (and FW 11 for the stick), which seems to be the most recent version according to the TM tech support website.
