cichlidfan Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 As near as I can tell, the updater is ignoring the -w switch, for specifying my saved game folder. This is from a clean install of 1.2.7. cichlidfan Posted January 26, 2014 Author Posted January 26, 2014 This is still true after the second update to 1.2.7. This will be a serious problem for anyone wanting to run more than one version of the sim with separate saved game folders. Kuky Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 (edited) -w doesn't work any more now there is "dcs_variant.txt" file specifying the user folder, this file is located in your main DCS install directory... if there isn't one, create one (if the file is not there DCS will be used as default folder) and in it just type how you want to call the user directory in saved games folder, same as it was with 1.2.7 openbeta installation for example if you have FOLDER text only in this dcs_variant.txt file, your saved games folder will be in "...Saved Games/DCS.FOLDER" folder. With all due respect to everyone involved, why was this not included in patch notes or something? Testers are not the only ones doing this. EDIT: It would also be preferable if the user had full control over the folder name.
