  1. Taking responsibility for your development

Members should make every effort to prepare for training events and operations, to ask for the time of instructors/peers, and to make best use of the training resources and opportunities provided. Members need to be realistic about their own capabilities. Due to the high workload for aircrew, a HOTAS and head tracking/VR is essential.

  1. Weekly Roll Call

The real world must come first. If for any reason you cannot attend an event: simply react as absent to our weekly attendance post (no reason is required). No effort to communicate can hinder the planning of events and affects every member, please consider others. Failure to update attendance via our roll-call channels or communicate extenuating circumstances with points of contact: we will revoke membership to our Discord and training site. As a Student, we require a minimum of 90%+ attendance to secure a smooth progression through our training and prevent relearning previously taught skills. Lack thereof will result in a rotation out of active training.

  1. Victimisation

We promote and celebrate freedom of speech within the DCAF, we only ask that you apply a common sense approach to this and uphold a mutual level of respect at all times. If members are debating or discussing a topic that makes others feel uncomfortable: they should place that topic aside until a more suitable time. If someone else is discussing a topic, or making jokes about something that you are not comfortable with: make it known (politely) that you don’t wish to hear about that topic and/or remove yourself from that situation.

  1. Guest Members

We encourage members to bring along others that may be interested in the group and wish to participate. However, a few restrictions are in place: Guest Members are not to be involved in official training or operations, unless they are part of another VAF which is on an approved Virtual Military Aviation Authority package delivered by DCAF (members who are contract Controllers and/or Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) are included). Guests may join in member organised Open Operations on the DCAF server, provided they are not official DCAF Missions, Training, or Operations. Guests may only be given limited access to the Discord and the role ‘Guest’. Behaviour/actions are the responsibility of that individual.

  1. Age Restrictions

A minimum participant joining age of 18 Years of Age is required. This is to protect younger members from potentially distressing material related to warfare discussions. The age of 18 has been selected as it is a generally agreed upon age of adulthood and self-determining legal consent (particularly in the EU, UK, and USA). Members younger than 18 Years of Age may apply but will not be considered for application until after their 18th Birthday. Members that are later found to have lied about their age and stated that they were older than 18 Years of Age in their application, or at the time of joining, when they were in fact younger, will be removed from the DCAF and their application to join DCAF will not be considered in the future.
