  1. pm me if anyone needs an extra, my crew is offline for awhile.
  2. PM me if you get something going, I have one of those ac haha
  3. This youtube channel is becoming a great resource. There are videos covering advanced areas as well as some of the basics, and a growing number of videos containing hard to find and obscure information about the A10C platform. If you're a hog driver, I encourage you to check it out!
  4. If someone's making a run at these, I'm in. I would probably get 2 or 3 sets actually. (for other guys I fly with)
  5. I understand this thread is in the nature of a technical comparison; however I feel it is worth noting that: If you are using the TM Warthogs to fly any plane with multiple engines (left / right), you should NOT lock the throttles together. It may seem weird/difficult at first, but you will be better off for it. Being able to walk the throttles during formation flight, AAR, as well as mid-air engine stop/restart access without having to juggle the unlock is totally worth it.
  6. Yeah, you've probably achieved the best possible on 1.2.6.... When you connect, the tanker calls back "Transfer complete" immediately and disconnects you. Doesn't matter what you do, the tanker will always immediately disconnect on 1.2.6. The 1.2.7 beta has it working again.
  7. SOME pilots do it this way... apparently.

    IPv6

I must be in a lot of trouble :music_whistling: I run a few fairly decent sized networks, windows, unix (LDAP) and a mix. IPv6 is no where to be seen. I only see improvements on the network because of which. I'm not saying IPv6 is evil. But if you only need IPv4, then it is just additional overhead. That's also why it's so hard to enable IPv6 across the world.... There are sooo many, an incredible amount of SoHo networks that aren't being managed, running only IPv4. As far as WHEN it will "officially" come. hehehehehe well, they've been saying "a couple years" for over a decade. ----------- Yes I disable IPv6 from the OS as well as any network devices. On windows go into networking settings, change adapter, right click on adapter and goto properties and then properties (button). Uncheck the IPv6 protocol in the list and OK you're way out. (I hate how M$ likes to bury that stuff.....) --------- I understand why people are pushing for it right now and why NAT isn't the perfect solution for a lot of things right now.... But those are in fact mostly problems that come from protocol design and address registration issues. And yes, for mobile, it makes the MOST sense to use all private space addresses on the mobile network. Your phone is a phone first, whether anyone remembers that or not. It's easy to route web access and such for those devices. I've been in the industry for the last 20 years. Some things move fast, but IP addressing is the equivalent to the street addressing for your house. For everyone to switch is a staggering feat. For end users that have turned it off: it is also easy enough to go enable the protocol when the time comes. I might have someone spend a whole hour to enable the protocol across an entire network... Even then however, if your edge devices can handle IPv4 / 6 conversion, there's still no reason for the internal network to be IPv6. The internal networks are only built to what they NEED. That's why you see so many class C subnets (aka 255 addresses). Even fairly complex networks (class B and A) are divided into many class C subnets. I would continue to quote and respond to everything else Bit, but I feel this is a topic well covered in other places and I don't need to write a book on these forums about it.

    IPv6

As a network engineer, I can assure you, we don't actually NEED IPv6, not since the advent of NAT which basically allows you to run unlimited number of systems behind any given address. I'm not saying that some people / organizations aren't being greedy and wasteful with their IP subscriptions... IPv6 at this point, for a end-user like yourself, just adds more overhead of yet another protocol to the communication line for the "future" of telecommunications. FYI, I disable IPv6 on EVERY device I touch ;) Happy computing!
  10. Maaaan, I'll tell you what, kind of like Yurgon said, once you finally connect for the first time, everything changes. I'm not sure how sensitive 15 % curve is on that stick, but with old logitech sticks I used to fly with, 30% curve seemed more appropriate. With the TM Warthog, 0 to 5% curve is fine. That being said, if you're "bucking" your wings too much - then adjust curves. If you're pretty much spot on with keeping your wings level to the tanker, then your curves should be fine. If you're pitching too much, then you're probably looking too near-sighted. Try looking right above the HUD box on the windshield at the underside of the tanker's NOSE and keep that the same throughout the whole process. SERIOUSLY, TO ALL AAR NEWBIES, PLEASE READ CAREFULLY: Do NOT try to "move" the stick to make corrections. Instead try to merely "flex" your hand(s). You shouldn't "Death Grip" the HOTAS, but you're really looking for the MOST MINUTE, TEENY TINY inputs possible. ---- Start yourself out around 150 feet back from the boom and speed match the tanker, "settle" into formation, pretend you're refueling right there, and get smooth. RELAX!!!! BREATHE!!!! Calm yourself, slow your breathing and your heart rate. Just get comfortable and naturally sedate yourself a bit. Next, barely flex the throttle up the smallest amount and close the gap at no more than 1 knot faster than the tanker's speed. --- Obviously, if you're PRO at AAR, you don't have to take things so slowly on pre-connect, but for those that are newer / struggling with it, it's EXCELLENT practice and should significantly help you develop the skills you need to do it on command. ---- If you have a split-throttle HOTAS, one of the best ways to control speed is to "walk" the throttles up and down to match speed. Remember these adjustments are still barely noticeable. ----- Lastly, I cannot recall who said it, but I think it was best said that (para-phrasing): "You are never 'in' formation, but instead always trying to 'get in' formation" as concerning formation flying. Just remember that you're always dealing with a changing environment and you're always making corrections to keep yourself at the perfect speed and position. AND SERIOUSLY, Remember to BREATHE and calm yourself. The better you can do this; relaxing yourself, the easier it becomes to get it right ;) Good Luck!
  11. Again, I have no experience with this particular issue; I do however know a few people from our squadron who have dealt with support issues from TM. I would be prepared to explain to TM (if you haven't already done so) what version of firmware you're using and what the symptoms are. This seems abnormal from all of my squadron's combined experiences. I would suspect a replacement / repair to be at hand. Even if you haven't received a response yet, I would probably quote your initial inquiry, add any further details and ask again for assistance. Bear in mind, unfortunately it is the holidays and a delay may be at hand. I WOULD definitely bet on a defective unit however :(
  12. TM might take a day or two to get back to you, but from my experience, they have really solid support that is always willing to help. Have you tried checking firmware version / updating? It is probably one of the first things they'll have you do once you get a response. I am only speculating here, I've never had that issue (unfortunately I don't know anyone else who has either) Good luck man!
  13. Fiveoh, I wish I could say yes..... A few of us in our squadron bought G940 rigs when they came out awhile back... they all have been retired for TM Warthogs. I personally and a few others I know will NOT buy any saitek products. :( There is a real issue here, there are not many options in the "affordable" price range for simulation controls that also carry any real weight in the quality side of things too. That being said, IF you get the chance to get yourself a TM Warthogs setup, you'll love it to death and wish you did it sooner. Good luck bro!
  14. Sounds like you didn't rearm or setup your weapons loadout.
  15. The A10 is meant for CAS not to be a fighter man. And you can take AIM9's but they're for self defense.
