Sweet. Now all we've got to do is convert any more advanced files (such as edits to MEint.xml) for this new ModMan version.

For Flaming Cliffs 1.0, there were many, many, many hard worked on campaigns and missions that sometimes became full scale community projects that are all now being scrapped because of 2.0, unfortunately. This is driving away players especially who can't or don't want to play online, and so they simply stick with 1.0... After the bugs are dealt with in FC2 (mostly graphic problems and AI behavior on air bases, the rest of the stuff I'm getting used to), I would highly recommend creating a "mission converter" of some sort to port missions from 1.0 to 2.0. Now I'm no programmer, but I think the most simplistic way to do it is to have AT LEAST the waypoints and speeds for aircraft, static objects, and vehicles to be literally copied and pasted from the old map to the new map. At the very least, if nothing else, this is at least enough to give us something to work with from any old missions we might have created, or old campaigns, such as the project Crimean Air Wars on LockOnFiles.com, one of the largest communities I know of for Lock On. Ideally, I'd like the objectives, targets, speeds, altitudes, time of arrival, etc all saved as well... but that gets way more complex than just moving some X's and Y's on the game map.

I mapped the multiplayer chat to RCtrl+M for "Chat All" and "RAlt+M" for "Chat Allies", but opening the chat results in either a game breaking bug. After I send the message and the chat box goes away, the Alt or Control key, depending on which I clicked, is stuck down and every command issued in-game is BROKEN by the control keys. I can't look around, I can't shoot, I can't lock, I can't control my brakes, the only things I -can- do is anything that's controlled by an axis. Ctrl+M should NOT be mapped to anything else, nor should Alt+M. I tried "Alt+Tab" to escape the program and click on it again, but that didn't help either. I cleared out the spots where the mirror snapping comes into play because I think mirror snapping is silly, so I blank it out on my Lock On games. It's impossible to communicate online without teamspeak because of this. From what I've heard and read on forums, other people are experiencing the same problem. Is there a temporary fix for this? Or do I have to wait for a patch? -_-

A LIST of game breaking bugs in 2.0...
Spades_Neil replied to Spades_Neil's topic in Bugs and Problems
Welp, I've found some more graphic errors. At least my initial "rage mood" over FC2 is done for. I've finally remapped my controller and bagged a few kills, so I cheered up. :P -
Woah... That's interesting. But good to know.

I actually want my advanced haze off because it doesn't look right.

A LIST of game breaking bugs in 2.0...
Spades_Neil replied to Spades_Neil's topic in Bugs and Problems
I have edited my post accordingly then, but there are seriously more than you may realize. 1: I haven't played online yet, 2: I think some players had been complaining about 6xR77s since 1.0, but 3: I have personally seen. It sometimes results in hours of hard work being wreaked because you need to change someone's sides. If this is fixed, I'd like to see it changed from 1.0 where it just deletes any objects owned by the coalition you changed. True, well, that's why I edited my first post. -
A LIST of game breaking bugs in 2.0...

Yes, ATI, and Windows 7. But these are far more programming errors than the one silly graphic one. Look at the rest of them. I'm using ATI, but listen, with these glitches there's way more to it than just a screwy video card. Aside from the graphic error I showed you guys, nothing else should be linked to the video card. There are a number of glitches that several other people are complaining about on Lockonfiles.com as well. This list are all the glitches I've experienced myself. Some claim there to be even more. -
As much as FC2 has improved the overall gameplay of Lock On, improved graphics, and balanced online play, there are an ever-increasing number of problems I'm coming across. I'm becoming highly disappointed with my purchase and wish I waited for the CD version now or at least a patch. I'm still discovering glitches and issues. I'm listing them as I discover them. 1. I just watched a plane land at Sochi-Adler, taxi off into the parking area, park, and then his Wingman suddenly did a U-turn and rolled across the grass to the other side of the base through several buildings and through the closed doors of a bunker hanger. EDIT: I also watched a Tu-22 try driving across the grass as well, again on Sochi. This time it didn't go across the whole airfield, but I think the AI is making a straight-line to where it plans to park. This time, however, it collided with some tanker trucks you see on the left side of the screen. I caught a screenshot of it at the last second before it crashed. Also got a screenshot of that. Plus, the third Tu-22 just stopped moving on the runway... Screenshots are as followed. 2. When I exit a mission, I can't click anywhere and leave the debrief screen. Playing it outside of full-screen seems to fix that, but opens up other problems. See #3. 3. The game functions by technically opening a new window and program every time a mission starts. As a consequence, anything running in the background or if something goes wrong and you get an error popup, you can't click anywhere nor can you click the popup. 4. Also cannot watch track replays, much less save them. I get an error popup when I try this. 5. Graphic errors where I can see through my plane. I got a screenshot of this one. 6. Plane switching is also borked, but so far has only happened once to me. I left my player aircraft behind because the pilot died, but the otherwise intact plane flew its self back to base like a zombie, and even put its flaps down on final approach (which autopilot doesn't do) when the plane suddenly dropped from the sky. 7. Control profiles are also messed up. I don't know why "BlackShark" is even there when it just breaks the game when you click on it. Either these particular LUA files should be saved elsewhere, or the files in that folder by default should be moved. 8. Not so much as a glitch as it is annoying. Any missions you make, by default, save in the "Temp" folder...? 9. This 'head movement' is also annoying, but can at least be fixed by clicking LWin+F1 or using the solution here. 10. Mission editor's "template" thing doesn't work right. Either I'm doing it wrong, or it's just broken. I go to place a template (such as a SAM site) and there's nothing in the templates... It's just blank. 11. English Cockpit does NOT make the cockpit English. There's no option for the Russian computer to speak English either. 12. There's often times no "beep" for inbound missiles either as there was before. I just hear the computer mumble something in Russian and I see text that says, "Missile, wherever o'clock high or low". I'm not sure if this is because a missile was IR, but if so, then I shouldn't receive an alert at all without a radar lock. 13. Not sure if this is a glitch or intentional, but a number of aircraft roles have been switched or removed from certain aircraft. For example, the Tu-95 and the Tu-160 can no longer perform runway attack or ground attack for example. 14. Mission editor problems again. "Unit 1 of X" is all messed up for larger planes. On the one hand, if they meant for bombers to fly Solo, fine. On the other hand, if they meant for them to have a squadron, it doesn't work. 15. As far as I know, you can only have one unit per flight, unlike in 1.0 where you could have 5, 6, 7, 8+ different units in a flight. 16. AI completely ignores my attack commands on occasion when I am editing missions. I set a Tu-22 to "Attack Point" and while two others do the same thing because I told them to, this third one just continues following the next waypoint to landing. It's only happened once, though. 17. More graphic errors. See the screenshots. I thought my scenes or textures might have been set low, but in this Free Flight mission I made, along with others, it's all the same... Unless the "enforced" options of my last map are somehow being ported over to my new one, there's something wrong here. I hope this is just going to last for the first week or two until they fix it. From what people are telling me though, Black Shark had its share of glitches when it first came out, but not "to this scale" as one person quoted. I'm still too new to Black Shark to understand it, but I would hope that it has been reasonably fixed since then. Despite all of these problems, there -are- the good things to this game, such as the new 'trigger' system brought over from Black Shark, and the much improved weapon behavior (carpet bombings are more epic than ever). Still, these issues create a huge part of the gameplay that's frustrating -everyone- I know who plays the game. It's not one or two players, either. It's a whole squadron.

I bet a dozen and a half people have already asked, but I suck at navigating these boards. >_>; Anyone know a release date for the CD version?

Ares Falcons squadron wants me to make them a few skins. I know a few of their pilots like the MiG-29, so I want to make a skin for the MiG-29. Problem is, I don't have a template yet...

Not usually, although more recently I've gotten a bizarre error where my screen goes black for five seconds, but the game DOESN'T crash in this case. However, my controller doesn't respond, nor does my keyboard. Not even my mouse! Lock On just does not knowledge them. This has only happened twice so far, but both times I have to Ctrl+Alt+Delete to get out of Lock On, since not even the escape button works.

This has happened twice now. In addition to my normal Windows 7 crashing in Lock On, now I am experiencing a repeated error where the game doesn't actually crash, but the screen goes black for about five seconds, then comes back. When it comes back, nothing in game responds to any controls I input. Can't use the keyboard OR my joystick. Not even the mouse. I can't even close the mission. I have to Ctrl-Alt-Delete to get out of Lock On. Error code is as following... 2/27/2010 11:53 V512091930 Unrecognized command line option: roompassword= Dispatcher: track version = 512091930 Dispatcher: initial random seed = 9635091 Dispatcher: apply random seed = 9635091 Cosmos: Mission date assigned - Year:2004, Month:6, Day:22 DXDefTexture: failed to load Noise_Empty.dds, D3DXERR_INVALIDDATA. I've patched the game to 1.12b, I've updated the Starforce drivers, I've updated my graphics card, I've lowered the graphic settings (despite being able to run at 200-300 FPS on maximum graphics), I've added a cap to the FPS in my config file at 60 FPS, I've disabled Data Execution Prevention for Lock On, I'm running Lock On as an administrator, and I've even UNINSTALLED AND REINSTALLED my entire game and put it in the directory Games/Lock On instead of Program Files (x86) because of how retarded Windows is!! And now, I lost ALL of my pilot and mission data because I was too stupid to back it up!! Yet none of this has been worth anything!! No matter what I've done so far, my game CONTINUES to crash. System Specs are as followed. CPU: AMD Phentom II X4 955 Processor 3.20 GHz RAM: 8.00 Gigabytes Operating: Windows 7 64-bit Graphics: ATI Raedon HD 4800 series My computer, aside from crashing every 1-20 minutes into gameplay, is capable of running Lock On with the graphics completely maxed out. That doesn't mean I do. For the amount of crap this game is going through, Lock On 2.0 better work bloody perfect. >_> When is it supposed to come out again? In the mean time, I am in desperate need of a fix. :helpsmilie: EDIT: I have an error report from inside the Lock On folder from my last crash. 2/27/2010 11:08 V512091930 Unrecognized command line option: roompassword= Dispatcher: track version = 512091930 Dispatcher: initial random seed = 6979609 Dispatcher: apply random seed = 6979609 Cosmos: Mission date assigned - Year:2004, Month:6, Day:22 DXDefTexture: failed to load samara-red.bmp, D3DXERR_INVALIDDATA.
