Can you do a VHF interplane check on the ground? The Gamblers campaign has a bunch of ground comms in it that don't seem to match up with what you would do in an actual jet. Maybe the F-16 is different, but if I recall, typically you would do a ground check on interplane (VHF here), followed by a push to ground for engine start. I haven't figured out how you would come up on interplane first, prior to engine start, if your interplane freq was on VHF.

@ricktoberfest I think it may be a ground check comm flow issue. Maybe. But I've never figured out how to do a check on VHF interplane with the engines being started.

I'll try it. Thanks.

I did another run as well. This was on Sinai map, with the F-15 parked with engines running. Nothing else. As a side, it looks like both times the game quits ~24ish minutes in. One thing I did notice, the clock times on the log are not the same as what shows on my computer. I have seen other posts suggesting time discrepancies may cause errors. In my case, the times listed in the log are my local (Central European Standard Time -2hrs. This coincides with real-world ZULU/UTC time. I'm not sure if there is some widget in the DCS system that is based on ZULU or not. dcs.log

I set this up as a simple run with the F-16 at FL250 on the Falkland map. Flying to a single steerpoint 310NM away from the start point. ALT HOLD and STRG SEL were engaged. PLease let me know if there is something you see. Thanks. dcs.log dcs.log.old

I am playing w/ the F-16 on Sinai map on a mission I created myself. Something simple. 2 v 4. The game quits without any prompts before going very momentarily to the debrief page. That too disappears a second later and the game quits to desktop. I then i get a message stating "Logon Session Expired." I googled it, and the recommendation was to delete all the extra stuff. I did that, but it does not seem to help. Game generally quits ~15-20 minutes into a mission. I will try different aircraft tomorrow to see if it is a module-specific problem. Thoughts?

So, the HSD data is good. Ownship position and routing is good. And the steering cues on the HUD are good. What I can't figure out is how to display the steerpoint number and range in the bottom right corner of the HUD.

So...I've done the tutorials and read Chuck's guides, but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get the steerpoint information to display in my HUD. When I do the startup tutorial, it ends with the HUD navigation data being blank, even after turning the EGI to NAV. When I do the T/O tutorial, the system is already displaying the NAV data. How do I get the NAV data if I am doing a cold start?

I got really excited when I saw this. Now i'm a bit disappointed. I was ready to Raqqa. Would have liked to have seen the inclusion of DaZ, Hajin, Baghuz...all the places that both western coalition and Russian/Syrian forces have been dumping bombs on ISIS for the last six years. I'll still buy it though. It looks very nice.

To me, the F-14 module is what makes DCS fun. I guess I probably have more money than good sense, but I've bought nearly add the modules. Some, like the Mi-8, I may have spend only minutes on and forgotten about. The F-14 really renewed my interest in the program, and since buying it I have wasted a lot of Saturday afternoons. Being able to act as a RIO and a pilot in the same mission provides an immersive experience that I don't really find with the other modules, although I have gone back and started to revisit some of the older modules I had previously gotten bored with. That's my $.02

VR I guess I'm fortunate enough that my computer runs the oculus rift efficiently enough that I never had any insurmountable resolution issues, but what are you VR users doing about controls that are not mapped to a HOTAS? It's cool to fly around and check out the scenery, but I wasn't able to come up with a viable method of clicking switches in the cockpit without pausing the game and going back to the handsets. And the handsets are a terrible substitute for HOTAS. MY favorite module is the F-14. I like being able to switch between front and back seats. I'd love to hear what others have done to overcome this limitations between handset and HOTAS.

The Serial Number I was issued does not seem to work. This is the message I get: The system requires the correct Serial Number of the application to perform this operation. The Serial Number entered is wrong or mistyped. Enter a valid Serial Number and try again. Without it nothing works. Anyone?

In the mission 'South Ossetia Pirates,' I always lose my right engine when trying to transit a mountain pass at about 3200M. Is this a function of high altitude operations, or is it a pre-planned failure that is part of the mission. I went through the manual and was unable to find anything that would lead to engine rollback at high altitudes.
