Just so you everyone knows: In FC 1.12b the engine failures will NOT work with the SU-25T from runway takeoff (not sure in air). The SU-25 Vanilla works fine so I know I am testing correctly. Try it yourself. Fail after 1 minute within 1 minute and the "T's" engine will not quit. The vanillas does. Bug I guess.

Confirmed!!! The engine failures work correctly with the SU-25 Vanilla ONLY. (So I know I am setting it up correctly). The SU-25T has a bug where the engine failures will not work in FC 1.12b.

You guys are saying it works but it doesnt. Try a mission starting on runway in SU-25T and set left engine failure at 1 minute within 1 minute at 100% in FC 1.12b. Now takeoff. NO FAILURE. How can it work only sometimes at 100%??!?!?!?

Very strange. I set up the Hydraulics to fail under same circumstances and they failed as advertised. It seems that when you start on the ground in the SU-25T the engine failure WILL NOT WORK. Just the engines, left or right. I did a search but found nothing. Is this known? Bug?

I am bringing this thread to the top again because I, too, cannot get an engine failure to work on the SU-25T (I have not tried any other plane). I set the left engine to fail after 1 minute within 2 minutes at 100% and press okay. I start on runway. No failure. What am I doing wrong please?

Nope. I tested some more. Even when my Tico's were not shooting missles at the attacking planes they would not shoot missles at the inbound KH-31P's. Why is it that the carrier will shoot down inbound missles from aircraft but the Tico's will not? I even changed the ships group to just a single, excellent Tico and no missles were shot. Something really wrong here. -

Ahhh.... I did some searching and see that the Ticonderogas can only put up 2 missles at a time. Mine were throwing up SIM-66 at the attacking aircraft. I guess this is the reason. I hope this gets fixed as you can "lure" the Ticos easily this way. -
I made a mission to watch where 4 SU-30's attack 1 carrier with 2 ticonderoga escorts. The ships are all seperate groups but in formation. The SU's launch KH-31P's from max range so the missles go way up high on the way to the ships. Now there are 8 missles inbound and the Tico's (excellent) will NOT launch against the inbound missles. The carrier will throw up a few Aim-7M's but the Tico's will only use the CIWS but no missles. Did the Developers nerf the U.S. ships to make the Russians look better or am I doing something wrong? A pair of Tico's can easily handle 8 high missles in real life. Also...I did make the U.S. 1 group but then 1 of the Tico's would not do ANYTHING. This is strange.

Thanks Renato71 for all those tips. I have never had any problem in any sim deploying weapons as I love to read manuals to get the details. I am also a very experienced pilot in real life so flying these planes is not a problem. Single engine ILS with no flight director? No problem. But I am missing something here. Maybe it is the speed. I think I was doing closer to 500 IAS during the run but it really shouldnt matter, as you have said, as long as I keep the speed constant. I will make some bomb runs today and post back here later. Thanks again for the step by step.

On page 245 of the LOMAC manual it says that I can dumb-bomb with the aid of the Shkval. I follow the steps exactly in the manual but my bombs never drop. The arrow goes down the left side of the hud but it never reaches the bottom. It almost gets there and then climbs back up the hud. I have my laser on and it is working, I am flying right at the steering guide while holding the trigger down but no release. Help?:helpsmilie:

Messing with the editor (adictive) I had a battery of 109's at an airport shell a town full of random target coordinates that was 14 km away and out of LOS. I put a bunch of enemy vehicles in the town at random and watched the fun as buildings blew up and shells landed around everyone. I had no idea you could do this!!!! New mission ideas are in my head! I wish you could hear the incomming rounds!! I checked the encyclopedia in the game but it does not list the range of guns like the 109's or MRLS. Does anyone have this info? Also....the 109's were VERY acurate. They were hitting the same spots with only a small amount of variation. I am sure they are very accurate in real life as well and if I want larger dispersion I will increase the range. I wonder if they can shell a convoy that is moving out of LOS and have a rolling barrage?!?!?:D

Thanks for all the tips guys! Question: In all of your experience what AI bomb load will result in the AI comming in LOWEST? ie. I want them to scream across the target LOW. I am thinking either the PB-250 or the Bet-500? ...or will the AI always climb hign no matter what bomb load they have?

Well every attack pilot is expected to attack a target DESPITE a few defences. Please tell me this is NOT the reason they are dropping the ball instead of the bombs.

I am trying to have some fun by making an simple AI airfield attack and just sitting back with a beer and watching the action. A simple airfield with a SA-8 and a Shilka (4x23mm) in defense against 2 X SU-25's with retarded bombs for runway and 2 X F-4's with mk-84's for the hangers and 2 X F-16's with MER mk-82's for the ammo dump. Imagine the beer comming out of my nose as the F-4's go vertical and circle forever. The SU-25's climb high up to drop retarded bombs and the vipers are doing cannon runs when I told them to attack with bombs. HELP. 1. I have the attack waypoint 10 km away from targets as the manual states. WTF??? 2. Why are the SU's climbing? I want a low altitude down the runway drop. That is why I gave them retarded bombs. What is wrong here? 3. The F-4's circle for a long time and then, maybe, drop. I just want one run then buster outa there. How??? 4. Vipers dumping the bombs to avoid a sam then the cannon runs. I told them BOMBs. Shouldnt they head for home after bombs gone? What am I missing here guys. Can anyone give me any tips to have the AI do a half way realistic attack???

Hmmmm... I put Ricardos HD pits in the Bazar/World folder and the game still doesnt use them for my SU-25T. What am I doing wrong? I did not put the Addon.lma3 in the root.

Thank you fellas. So if I dont use Modman I dont need the addon.lma3 I will learn to use Modman tonight. Thanks for the advice!

New to this so please bear with me.:cry: I am not using "Modman" as I have not learned much about it yet so I am installing several mods manually. Tweak, HD cockpits, and trees for example. Now a few mods have an "Addon.lma3" file that goes in the programs root directory. If I am installing several mods then which one do I put in there or do I need this at all? Is it for "Modman"? Many thanks P.S. The Tweak mod is a little strange to me. I installed it and changed the graphics config back to my resolution (1920 x 1080) and aspect 1.777777777. To use this mod I just set game visiblity in options to "tweak" or whatever and put the other settings in options to what I want?

Also..... I am using a 1920 x 1080 lcd. Do I set 1.777777777 is my graphics config under aspect?

Hey, Very new to FC. I am just getting into building some training missions now and I have a few questions about airport ops in the game. 1. Does wind direction effect the runway in use or does tower always assign the same runway?:pilotfly: 2. Has anyone talked about the insantity of asking for takeoff clearance AFTER taking the active runway? :doh: Seems this bug should have been caught early. I know FC is not an ATC sim but this one is a big mistake! Thanks!
