  1. I did turn the volume knob up of course, but still: it is absolutely strange that the idle sound is louder than the very faint lock tone. And even with the knob fully in the open position, it is not loud enough. (Anyway it is no showstopper for me to enjoy the excellent F-5E ! )

  2. Is it me, but I find it very strange that the missile lock tone is so faint! I simply cannot hear it, it is totally overshadowed by the cockpit noises and much, much more silent than the normal missile tone.

    I there a mod with increased volume somewhere? Could be my age, after a while you can hear lower tones better than higher ones, but honestly, this one is inaudible.

    I now shoot when I *don't* hear a tone anymore, but before you realize you loose some vital seconds!

  3. Hello Stefan,

    To directly answer your original question: as I fly both (and both are among my most favourite aircraft), I would buy the A8.

    This is the A/G aircraft you want;

    Both models are very refined and of high quality, and even though the A8 is still recent and not yet finished, I do not have that impression at all while flying. Both fly very well and I did not encounter any specific bugs or missing things in the A8.

    Just my opinion!

  4. Well I fly both just because they are just such a joy to fly and look at! The FW-190 is a truly brilliant design and certainly one of the designs that made warbirds one of the pinnacles of aviation history. The Dora is primarily meant to intercept high flying bombers and fend of their escort, so if you like to fly high, it might be your pick. As already mentioned in many posts, the A8 is mainly for ground attack.

    Another thing that you should consider is the difference in engines. The Anton is the only plane with a radial engine currently in DCS. And to be honest a radial engine is a must have experience. The Junkers Jumo 213 V12 is of course also a superb engine with more power, but you might have excellent V12's already if you own any of the other WWII birds.

  5. it's OK I finally managed, as Ala13_ManOWar said it had to do with a misleading viewpoint, I didn't flare enough but actually pointed nose down. By keeping an eye on the ADI I managed to do the correct flare. Once I got the trick it's fairly easy.

  6. For the current crash it is too early to speculate, but on the Indonesia crash I feel this article might have some merit: https://slate.com/technology/2019/03/ethiopian-air-crash-where-did-boeing-go-wrong-with-the-737-max.html

    There is a case to make the larger engines changed the natural balance of the 737, but of course we cannot know if it has anything at all to do with teh Ethiopian crash, could be completely unrelated.

    I fly a lot (as a passenger) and I must confess I would feel very uneasy to board a 737 MAX today. We need more clarity.

  7. In the past when you click in the ME on the symbol in the midst of the runway of an airfield, you got detailed airfield info with tower, ndb etc

    Now the symbol is gone and when I click on an airfield I get warehouse info?
