Since long, I have the SC & Stennis. Then one ÚPDATE .3648?'wiped out the deck crew. Anyway, i think it will help to have a CQ - carrier Qualification module that allows us to get through the entire sequence of CQ in one go. I called Stennis as TRG carrier as it has four arrester wires and SCs have only three. there may be other differences. I am still learning. Thanks all and Regards, Vishkar

I thought the purpose of having STENNIS was to make us fully op carrier pilots on a training ship. In fact we should have a module dedicated to give us CQ (Carrier Qualification) in one session. I just keep practicing launch and land on STENNIS. Still a novice, any advice is welcome, though I have done over 500 of them. Thanks and Regards, vishkar

Dear Draconus, I have SC module since long. Yet no deck crew for Stennis. I think STENNIS is like a Training Carrier and having deck crew at least helps to practise deck procedures before LAUNCH. Also find it useful to practice for CQ. Attached file was given as a solution by opening it in BIN folder of DCS Thanks, vishkar DCS_updater_64bit.zip

That update 2.9.10.3948 looked like a virus to me. After installing it, the deck crew on STENNIS vanished. A file-attached- was given as a solution with the remark that it should be opened in BIN folder and if it doesn't work, then you have to reinstall DCS. BIGNEWY replied that since all that deck crew etc was not to be a part of STENNIS since that ship came free, unlike SC. It was more realistic with deck crew guiding the a/c for launch. Thanks all. The Stennis deck crew vanished after update 2.9.10.3948. Reason being given: it is free unlike SC Roosevelt which I have bought earlier. Funnily, the crew had become non-visible although all actions like HOLD-BACK bar etc kept happening automatically. Any solution like uninstalling that update and revert to Deck Crew Op as it was before.

I am attaching a solution given by your Chat Bot or whatever. It advises opening a file DCS updater.exe in Bin folder. If it does not work , then one has to uninstall DCS and INSTALL AGAIN. it means that last update .3948 was either corrupt or a virus.
So please restore DCS on my PC to as it was on 03 DEC 2024.

Super carrier: The ILS Localiser shows RIGHT deflection and The TCN needle shows 'GO LEFT"'. Even at about 6-7 Nms there is no Glidepath indication. This is when steering the BRC 130 degrees. It is only at about 6 nms that the indications of TACAN and Localiser merge to show the correct track to the Deck. Why can't you go back to the STENNIS as I had suggested for launch and land back quickly for practice. Regards. Vishkar

Dear All, I have a fair amount of success in deck landings. But in SC I see the localizer shows 'Go RIGHT' but TACAN needle shows 'GO LEFT'? At about 5/6 nms from the deck both merge to show correct path. After landing, I got a 'FOLD WINGS' so I folded my wings. Then I asked for a 'LAUNCH' and the deck crew took positions for 'LAUNCH'. But then neither 'PARKING' nor 'LAUNCH" activated. What is the problem? Please help. Thanks.

After installing the latest update .3948?, the deck crew is not visible on USS Stennis.
Also the \ shortcut for dropdown menu is not working.
past month I have been practising take-offs and landings in 'REPLAY' mode without any problems.

If I am able to uninstall the latest update ie 2.9.10.3948, will I get to practise on Stennis like before. I had NO PROBLEMS past few months. At least we should be allowed to play the sequence from '8 nm out from Stennis, land with R/T commn and Take off again and again. Hope you can restore this for carrier take-off and landing practice. How else ar we to improve our carrier take=off and landing? Please help.

I meant with wings already level, but a/c is not on the Çentreline. Small corrections.

How do I get the a/c 'back on line' to repair the gear warning? or do I have to close the session and start all over again? In the dropdown menu, there is 'Repair the a/c'for the Ground Crew. How do I use it, please?

In general, fighters hardly need to use the rudder in flight. But on approach to land (or even to a target), rudder may be used since you want to keep wings level. Also on landing roll, if a/c starts drifting left/right, it is better corrected with the rudder.

Thank you all for your prompt response. Will try as suggested. I am still using my old Saitek Cyborg 3D Gold joystick ( since I got duped by Amazon into buying a fake HOTAS TM 4.) Can anyone suggest a HOTAS, say, around $ 200-250? At 79 yrs, I don't think I have a long fighter career in DCS.

Thanks for your reply. I suppose, below 135 kts the speed drops rapidly. Does it help to Ínvert'' the throttle setting for a quick response to increase speed? What effects do % and Curvature have on the throttle? Thanks

I used to get fairly good carrier landings till I changed from Win 10 Pro to 11 pro. I am ok on approach till about 1.5 NMs or so. Then the trouble starts like a Yo-Yo. I am Ón The Ball. But then suddenly glidepath shows I am too high . SO I reduce throttle, and it goes down in no time to show I am way below the glidepath. So now instead of about 85-90% success, it is the other way round. My joystick Settings are as given in the Manual. Any help is welcome. Thanks all.
