  1. Well I am flying the A10 and I have played around with AP and read the flight manual but still haven't found an AP mode that neutralizes trim, rolls wings level, maintains altitude and heading... The other mode I would like to see is a speed mode where the aircraft neutralizes trim, rolls wings level, maintains speed and heading...this mode would be used for long descents or climb outs...using the throttle as your vertical velocity control Oneway...
  2. I have a problem with TrackIR 4 Pro running the TrackIR 5 software flying the A10....using 6DOF 1.1 with the A10 add on When I bank/turn the aircraft and then level ou,t the HUD ladder is off center...hitting F12 has no effect on re-centering it...the text portion and the heading indicator appear fine... If you look carefully at the picture you will see the heading caret is basically centered in the HUD relative to the actual canopy frame and that little black box over that switch panel...thus indicating when the picture was taken my head was basically dead center in the cockpit...yet the display of the HUD ladder appears as if my head is shifted far left on the X axis...there by rendering the ladder far right... This condition was simply created by lifting off the airfield and executing a climbing right 30 degree turn and then leveling out around 1000 feet... Any idea what is going on here? Oneway Here is a picture...
  3. Thanks to all of you for your replies/answers... ...so it turns out you can cycle the fields as one poster pointed out along the lines of cycling ords...I can turn off the HUD in the editor (thats great!)...each field only has 1 ILS approach, there is no back course... Just to clear things up...I am not interested in ILS approaches other than I want to completely familiarize myself with the A10 instruments, procedures etc that are not related to weapons...instrument flying is the fastest way to familiarize yourself with an aircraft, and nothing shoves it down your throat faster than a night approach with heavy weather, cross wind and turbulence and nearly zero visibility... When I have feel like flying the A10 is second nature...then I will train on the weapons systems... One step at a time for me... Again thanks....Off to shoot ILS approaches Salute
  4. Another Basic Flight Question... More Cadet Question: What Autopilot mode will neutralize trim, level the wings and lock the heading in a flight level attitude? What Autopilot mode (if any) will neutralize trim, level the wings and either lock the pitch attitude or airspeed...ie trim for present airspeed and control ascent/descent rate with throttle... Seems like the Autopilot has a mind of its own...and doesn't even possess a wings leveler-trim neutralizer and level flight at present heading choice... Finding the logic in the AP modes to be anything but logical...for instance default "A" route following...thanks but no thanks...why does the AP default "A" go to route following?...the default condition of the AP should be to simply stabilize trim and go to a flight level heading lock... Engaging the autopilot should not induce course corrections unless a 'special' mode or modifier is selected... Oneway ????????????????
  5. I dug up my Track IR 4 Pro...and have forced myself to use it and have abandoned all desire to use coolie switches for view control... I have never been a TIR fan for the WW2 sims I fly because I am a bomber pilot... LOMAC...has given me a reason to revisit that decision and its working well with the 6DOF mod.... Salute Oneway
  6. Any help please I am trying to train myself in basic instrument approach procedures and can't seem to find a way to set up an instrument approach to a field other than "home base"... What I want to do is be able to latch up the ADI and HSI to any field I would like to land at...there must be some way to call tower at a different field when requesting an ILS approach ????? There has to be a way to use the comm's to call for vector and heading from the field one would tune to... My practice mission does a round robin of several airfields after sunset, heavy clouds, fog, wind, turbulence and a thunder storm... When I approach my first target touch and go field...the ILS system is still stuck on the origination field... More Questions: When setting up wind in the environmental mission settings will the in game ILS approach change to take into consideration current wind? As an example in the training missions for the A10 (rockets,bombs,mavericks)...active runway at 'Kobuleti' is always 255...wind is 74 at 6...if I set it to 255 would the ILS approach change? Are there any approach plates for the fields in LOMAC FC2 fields? What are the actual names of the fields in the real world so I can find the approach plates online How can I turn off the HUD entirely so am forced to use panel for my approach procedures? I want to practice steam gauge approaches in nasty conditions...civilian IFR typically finds the student in a hood...we can't do that in the game but how do you turn OFF the HUD Oneway Flight Cadet Edit: I am probably wrong because its all new to me, but it seems you can only have one landing point on a mission...the waypoint or action point "Refuel" I assume means aerial refueling and not land based hot padding an aircraft at an interim field... The mission I am trying to create is to set up 3 gnarly ILS approaches to 3 different fields...where I would refuel at the 3 remote fields before returning home and be forced into a final ILS approach, landing and taxi to end the mission
  7. So I will assume (based on the lack of response) that the game does not have the ability to set up a hat switch so one can simply hat left or right and look left or right and upon release it pans back forward? Would this be a correct assumption? I was shocked when looking at the controls set up there is not a "View Left", "View Right", "View Forward Right", "View Forward Left", "View Back Left", "View Back Right"...like 99.9% of every other flight sim ever created... Instead I found: View slow left, view slow right etc...and the glance stuff which did not solve or answer my issue, nor the custom snap...which was instantaneous view change instead of panning action... Comon guys...what am I missing here? I simply want to set up my hat switch to look left or right or whatever and snap back forward when released.... It cant be that difficult....or is the game totally all about Track IR? Oneway
  8. Total failure in getting the basic HAT views to work... Glance seems not to be the answer.. Neither is the "Cockpit Views" section Mapping the HAT to cockpit views selections simply results in a snappy view change...no interim pan from one view angle to the next... Again I do not want to pan my view...I want to hit hat left or right and see my field of view pan to left or right...and lock on to that view direction...AND when the hat is released it RE-Centers What happened to standard HAT views....the kind that are programmed into nearly every flight sim on the planet? Hat left pan and look left...release re-center....hat right pan and look right...release and re-center.... Oneway Setting this game aside until someone can enlighten me...
  9. Figuring a bit of this out via the "Glance" commands...but the picture is not fleshed out/its ambiguous Where is: Glance Left Rear Glance Right Rear Glance Left Forward Glance Right Forward How can I set my View Hat to simply roll through the octal points of a typical switch and produce a snapping pan effect on the horizontal perspective Headings relative: 0, 45, 90, 135, 180, 225, 270, 315 and back to 0/360 ...and when the hat loses focus it snaps back to 0/360
  10. First post...attempting to migrate to LOMAC from WW2 sim... How do I set my Hat (view) to simply snap left, right, back...then back left, back right, forward left, forward right... I have been messing with the controller set up be it keeps panning... I do not want it to pan...I want the view to snap look left, and then on release re-center forward... I also typically use a modifier button on my stick which is view up... so If I look forward left with the hat, and use the modifier I am looking: forward-left and up... Technical curve on this app is steep, be patient as I try to get things set up... <<S>> Oneway Running an x52 pro without the saitek software...hoping to get what I want from within the game so I don't have to load that junk...
