  1. An easy stop gap solution would be for ED to place the IADS and GCI scripts into the triggers for us by default so we can make missions with them without having to spend time learning how to code. Even better would be pre-made missions and campaigns just like in video games.
  2. They didn't even do Falklands right (does anyone even still play it?). No Super Etendard, no British Harrier from the 1980s, no Mirage III, no British and Argentine ships from the era, and most importantly, no Exocet missile. But we could at least still do a hypothetical 2nd Cuban missile crisis.
  3. Yes, it would be better than the Syria map, but we also need more SAM and ground units from the era (i also don't see that version of the Mig-21 or any of the jets from the era on my end, but I also ran out of room for updates almost a year ago. The Cuba map would also be greatly lacking without the naval assets.
  4. Then how did IAF Falcons defeat BVR capable Floggers? It's obsolete against 4th Gen fighters except in BVR. Plus, by the 80s, the F-15, Kfir and others took it's place in a2a role.
  5. For the Syria map, Israel is lacking an important resource it had during the 1982 Battle of Bekka Valley. The only BVR capable fighter available to Israel on DCS is the F-15 on Cold War historical mode.
  6. I never make missions that start at night due to them being just terrible. Staring at blackness and not being able to see a hill coming up in front of me makes flying at low level not possible in many places. Watching replays of the mission also are almost useless since I can't see much of what's going on. Being able to select night vision for external views at least would make watching them enjoyable.
  7. These are the Redfor answer to cruise missiles from the NATO side. They were used by Syria during the 80s too, and would add a new way of opening up a mission by attacking runways faster and more instantaneously than an aircraft taking off with Kazoo missiles. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OTR-21_Tochka
  8. I would like to see a map of Cuba, Florida and the Gulf Coast modeled. It would be great for a second Cuban Missile Crisis campaign occurring in the late Cold War with the Admiral Kuznetsov, Su-33/27 and Cuban Mig-29s to meet another Bay of Pigs invasion. I think this would be a cooler and more interesting map than Syria as it offers a chance to fly missions involving the USA's borders.
  9. This would be great to use for real Cold War mission if we had nukes for it. Or 90s missions if we also had the appropriate AI and FF aircraft for the time such as the upgraded F-15s from the 90s and Su-27SM.
  10. how are they adding a plane that's supposed to be classified?
  11. Is ED ever going to give us infantry units that can fire anti-tank missiles? This would add a whole new world to mission making. They're also great for insurgents especially if Hamas/PLO were to ever be added for the Syria map.
  12. We need infantry units that work with artillery groups to assist them in targeting moving targets such as armored columns. It would give the artillery units some stealth by being able to fire form behind a hill or building instead of needing LOS on the target.
  13. What are some squadrons that a non-full fidelity player can get into this week? I have the Caucasus and Syria maps.
  14. Yes, and guesstimating when to start the mission of intercept aircraft including how long it takes for the pilots to be alerted and get ready to run to their aircraft also reduces the realism. I use 5 mintues because that's what ChatGenie told me.
  15. I'm surprised ED hasn't added this yet. It would make just flying at night possible as night missions are unplayable for me, so I only fly day and twilight missions. How does one locate a bandit at night during a dogfight without relying on BVR mode? I also know for a fact Soviet pilots had NV systems during the Cold War.
  16. Thank you. I will try it out.
  17. I think that map sucks actually mainly because of the lack of NATO airbases. The original Crimea map was better.
  18. F-111, this is probably more important to have for late Cold War missions than any on that list. Why did they even remove it?
  19. I would really like to make missions based on the 1979 border war with China. They need to add some more appropriate Chinese assets to the sim too. It's also interesting to contemplate how the USSR and US would react to this.
  20. Will ED ever install these scripts for us in the triggers so we don't have to learn how to code and do it ourselves? I haven't heard of them wanting to model an integrated air defense system like in Falcon BMS, so the next best thing would be having these triggers already installed by default in the maps. I've only managed to do the basic IADS myself mostly just copying and pasting from the work of others, but A2A dispatch is difficult and I have no idea how to create the triggers for it. A more advanced IADS that models the destruction of command centers, communications nodes and the detection of incoming bandits from ship based radars and other sources would be ideal.
  21. Why do they have to get pushed around by China?
  22. The Syria map is lacking these critical ships and weapons. If we go by when DCS takes place (late cold war), the Syrians should have their own Osa-1 class ships with the P-15 Termit missile which has greatly inferior range than the missiles used by the Osa ships in DCS (and was basically obsolete by then). Israeli ships of the time like the Sa'ar 4-class missile boats would also add whole new experience to the map along with Turkish naval assets.
  23. There needs to be a way to select all units on a map just like how we can already do so with a single group (ctrl + c), and paste them onto another map. This would save many weeks in having to create a mission all over again in order to make a map-wide tweak like using a SAM site template.
  24. I could never imagine this secret weapon becoming declassified even 10 years ago.
  25. A remastered Caucasus map could be even better than Syria or Kola Peninsula. There's more opportunity for peer-level warfare there than in Syria, and more room and opportunities for ground combat than in Kola as well.
