  1. I began with Beta 1 on my 2010 iMac 27". I never dreamt of running on Parallels (VM), but bootcamp ran it pretty nicely. Sure I couldn't have all the detail settings on max, but overall it was pretty good. But, I finally got jealous of everyone playing with all the eye candy turned up, so I pulled the trigger on building a decent but economical PC. Not sure if I'm the only one out there with my setup, but the cool thing is I'm able to plug my PC video output into my beautiful iMac 27" and run my mac in target display mode so it's an external monitor. Looks gorgeous and loving how well a10 runs and looks now. And, at the touch of a button I still have my superior mac for everything else besides a10!
  2. I fly an EMB-135 Legacy private jet, and have been to both Tbilisi and Batumi in it. I can attest to the great job these guys did with the airport modeling... except the shorter runway in Tbilisi was closed down and turned into a taxiway last fall when I was there.
  3. I think I've been running into this issue a lot with the SP/MP CSAR mission. However, if that's the way it's "supposed" to work, I'm baffled. Are the designers of this fire control logic saying that in order to NOT get CCIP invalid when you are dropping on a target that you have made SPI, you must have the current steer point set at roughly the ground elevation? I would think the only steer points that should have ground elevations are takeoff and landing. EDIT: UGH! OK, I thought I did enough research to solve my problem before posting this, but I'm good now. It was the same issue with the DTS not being selected with a cold start up. Just played CSAR again SP and played with that for first time, solved my issue. Thanks for the info StrongHarm, actually found the solution in another thread (maybe by you, can't remember).
  4. Ha! Lucky for you I have not tried it yet! Thanks for the clear up though. :)
  5. Yikes, I was hoping I wouldn't look like I'm a total rookie for asking that question, I did do all the training missions, I swear! I must have overlooked that part of the training. Thanks for the reply, glad to know the procedure now!
  6. Hi everyone, couldn't find any info on the forums here about this.... I'm having issues trying to setup the EO to automatically power on as mentioned in the manual. I'm able to change the mode from MANUAL to LOCATION in the Automatic EO Power Function (OSB5) in the missile page, then I'm able to input a value for bearing and distance (OSB7 and 8) via the UFC, but the trouble for me lies in the waypoint selection (OSB9). Using the rotary functionality of OSB9 and seeing the +/- value next to it when I line select it, I expect that each button press should cycle through waypoint values. But, each time I push it it just makes the +/- reverse video cycle on and off. Additionally, the manual says I can use the UFC/CDU to input a value (like the waypoint/bearing inputs), yet no value gets inputed when I have a value in the scratch pad and line select OSB9. Also, I've tried virtually every rocker switch on the UFC, and tried the CDU +/- rocker with no success. Am I doing something wrong here or is this a bug? Anyone get it to work? I've had issues since early betas. I'd like to set up my EO power automatically so I don't have to wait that 3 minutes when I forget to turn it on! Thanks!
  7. you guys are awesome, just simply awesome. Thanks for the reply!
  8. I saw the F-18 tanks still not textures in the final release. Also, while watching an Apache after it got shot up and crash-landed at night, the bullet holes were bright white, contrasting with the nearly black chopper since it was night time... It looks like a big chunk of glowing swiss-cheese, not exactly like a damaged chopper. :)
  9. Thanks for the help guys. Ok, this might be turning into more of an issue with setting up my inventory than anything else. I was still unable to find the answer to my problem with a search of the forums and reading the inventory section in the manual. When I goto the inventory page I'm able to select the AIM-9 OSB for station 11, and I'm able to change it to the CATM-9 (tried both the 1xCATM-9 and 2xCATM-9), but didn't make any difference since I was able to fire off the station 11 (red) smoke when it was set to AIM-9. The problem is still station 1. When I highlight it in the inventory page and goto the subpage, I'm not presented with any of the weapon type options (rack, pod, missile, bomb, CBU, and GBU) on the left and right side OSB buttons as shown in the manual on page 279 (in old manual, sorry). And, if I clear the AIM-9 on station 11, again I'm not presented with the above weapon type options (and for that matter, none of the stations give me the options when I clear out invalid stores). I've tried setting master arm to safe, arm, train, and also tried setting on the ground vs. in the air with no luck. Also, the OSB's on top giving the options to INV STAT and HOME TER don't do anything when I have a cleared out station, nor do they give me any options to change that listed ECM pod on station 1, where the smoke pod is that I can't get to work. What am I doing wrong? Is this a basic thing and should I feel stupid? ;) Thanks again for the help!! ** Edit** Ok, so I tried loading a different mission where I start on the ground, called ground crew to rearm with the "show" load-out, then I was able to successfully see the options in the inventory page to set my stations up properly. Then I was able to get both the smokes to activate. I'm not sure why the first mission (that I created and it starts in the air with the show load-out) didn't allow me to see those options in the inventory page. Whatever. Thanks again guys!
  10. I apologize if this has been discussed before, I did my best to search the forums and came up empty, as well as searched through the manual with no success. When I select the load-out "show" (red and green smoke pods) I'm able to get the red smoke to work on the the right wing but not the green smoke on the left. I noticed the DSMS page incorrectly thinks it's an AIM-9 (IFIRC), but the left pod is incorrectly listed as the ECM pod (IFIRC too!). So, I'm able to select the profile for the aim-9, hit the pickle switch, and voila- Red smoke! But I'm unable to highlight the ECM pod (makes sense since there's nothing to shoot)... Perhaps where I'm going wrong is reprogramming the inventory, and I haven't had any success with that yet. Still begs the question, why would the DSMS inventory be incorrect when you jump in the pit if it's a load-out that is selected in the GUI? Never had that problem before. Ok, I realize I shouldn't be wasting time putting on airshows and I should get busy plinking tanks, but hey, it looks like fun to pop off red and green smoke! (the red smoke looks awesome!) Thanks for any help in advance!:)
  11. Ahh, makes sense... Thanks! Just making sure that my longer landing distance is normal, and I'm not doing something wrong.
  12. anyone notice how quickly the AI A-10's stop on the runway after landing? It appears to be half the distance as when I try to stop the A-10 with maximum braking ability.
