Hi everybody! Just wondering about the loss of lift/engine power at landings, that I sometimes experience - it only happens occasionally, but when it does I always crash (but once). Pretty much what happens is I find a spot to land in, hover above it and start my descent with landing gears down - sometimes I get weird vibration inside the cockpit and it seems that the rotor blades stop generating pretty much all the lift, because even with collective at max I cannot stop the descent. The only time when I got out of that situation is when I started jerking around the cyclic (the stick) and the chopper went back to normal. Any ideas what is it? Is it some kind of stall or something?

Thanks for pointing out my mistakes 8D, but I though that when flying at high speeds, turning left will not cause rotor blade collision - its the right turns that should be avoided, no? Had no idea about the engine power as well - I figured, the more the merrier haha. Also for the trimmer - I know in theory how it works, but a few questions: 1) Even when trimmed, the helicopter will still need adjustements to keep on course - thats fine right? 2) How do can you tell the position of the cyclic (thats the joystick right?) when trimmed, in relation to its original position, without using the CTRL-ENTER method - in other words, how would pilots do that? Hi everybody! After around a week of practice in dcs: black shark, I felt that I am ready (ready enough :megalol:) to start the first campaign, first mission - which is pretty much flying, following a mi-24. So I've been following mi-24's lead for around 30 minutes, with a few overspeed warnings to be honest, but everything was still good. The problem that I did have was when I was flying at ~250 kph, and then made a pretty sharp left turn and tried to stabilise, and with no warning whatsoever my rotor blades clashed :joystick: and I have watched that track a few times and it doesn't seem right that that has happened.... ..now I've had my share of rotor blade clashes in the last week and can tell when that's my fault (all the time), but this particular crash seemed weird. Anyway - thought I'd share with you all, and if anyone wants to have a look - the link to the track file is below - quite big though (~3MB) since the flight went on for a while oh and also - I'm trying to get used to the trim function, which is good mostly, but somehow I can never get the trim right and keep the chopper in balance, so by the end of this flight my right hand was REALLY tired from trying to keep the helicopter steady (never before happened to me, except for that hour-long f-18 carrier landing training session I've had once ) http://www.megaupload.com/?d=NXTVY6OP

That's pretty annoying - but not too much of a big deal I guess, as long as I can install a separate copy - I hope there will be no activation/deactivation issues then

Hi again everyone! Just got my game today (finally!) and obviously installed and started playing it straight away.. before I had to go to work..:cry:..anyway - its all good - crashed around 10 times in less than 30 minutes of game time, but overall good fun. I can see that there are a number of patches on the website, so my first instinct if to download them, the question is though - do I need to download and install every one of them or just the latest one? - since they are VERY large in size:noexpression: Thanks!

Hmm.. I'm new here too - haven't even got my game yet, but that video is pretty heavily post-processed and I bet that the sun flare effect was added in an external application like vegas or aftereffects.

It's sad to hear such negative replies on fsx f-18, but I agree - most of the systems aren't operational - I'd love to get my hands on superbug, but $50 is a bit much for a new aircraft considering that all the weapons systems are, well useless in fsx, since there is no combat - still its nice, from the videos I've seen. But for now I'll focus on Black Shark (thats why I got it for right? lol :)).

Avilator - I don't really know anyone in FSX - mostly fly offline on Cessna or practice carrier landings on f-18 lol, so if you want to try formation flying with me, then I'm happy to try, however I should not be held responsible for any virtual lives lost..... Comieodor ..8D.. thanks for the links also - I've downloaded most of the videos already and started watching them gradually - the startup sequence looks scarily long lol.. and the whole laptop-pc thing would be probably what I end up doing, thanks for suggestions and see you in the virtual sky eventually.. once I get the game and learn to take off

This sure does sounds like an awesome game - got the manual and started reading over it - just the technical details for now - the engines, weapons and overall build of the helicopter - haven't seen such a detailed manual before, its GREAT! InFireBaptize thanks for the invite - once I get to know the controls and all, I'll most likely go and see what you guys are up to 8) Avilator - sadly I don't have any extra aircraft, than the ones in the game + the Acceleration Addon (lading f-18 on the carrier is always good fun .. unless I crash) astrospud - thanks for the info, I hope that I would get within a week. Once I'll get to know the game a little, I'll definitely sent you a pm. By the way, how is multplayer? Are there a lot of servers/people usually? Why I'm asking that that I got my hands on Rise of Flight Demo, which was pretty nice, but MP was empty! D8

Hi everybody, I've ordered DCS:Black Shark a few days ago along with trackIR 5 and should hopefully get them within 2 weeks. I've been wanting to buy black shark for around a year now, but the copy protection system was stopping me, however I couldn't help myself and had to buy it:D So anyway, though I'd introduce myself to the forums.. while I'm waiting ...and trying to study for my exams :megalol: Oh and by the way, I've played a few flight sims already - old Mig 29, tried lock-on at friend's place a few other arcade ones (which were crap) and am mostly flying in FSX nowadays... oh and I went for a flight in Piper Warrior 3 around a month ago.. which was great, and which actually pushed me to buy trackIR Anyway, I'll try co contain myself over the next week or 2 (By the way, any ideas how long the shipping might take to Australia?).. ----------- Have fun!
