  1. Just wondering if it's in the correct spot by the default? Since it seems awfully close to the front panel and makes the whole view very claustrophobic What I have, by default in the game is similar to this: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.co...A10C/HUD-1.jpg And what I would expect is something like this (don't worry that its a different cockpit): http://www.abacuspub.com/wbe/A-10%20Cockpit.jpg Now, I understand that it is very easy to just move the view back (using trackIR 5), but that removes half the HUD, which is a big problem. So what I'm trying to find out if this http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.co...A10C/HUD-1.jpg is similar to what a real pilot would see and if it is, I'm going to suck it up and enjoy the sim, knowing that that's the way it should be ------- I've already posted this in beta forums, but figured most of the people don't even go there..

  3. fair enough, thanks for the explanation :)
  4. Hi everybody! It's me again here.. I'm just wondering if there is a delay between when you press squeeze the cannon trigger and when it starts firing.. I figured that it would take some time for the cannon to reach its full rotation(firing) speed. I'm not sure how it is in real life, but having looked at the "GAU-8/A 30mm" section of the manual, I could not find anything about a delay.
  5. ^^ That is the only thing stopping me from buy it now. I really want the beta, but I really want the box as well - the box itself, the stuff inside, the original DVD with graphics printed on it - just opening a box for a new game is so satisfying... Its so hard to decide
  6. ...I know, I know - I should just shut up and wait for it.. but I can't seem to handle the pressure of waiting too well
  7. ..I'm just wondering, because I want the beta but also want the boxed version - digital download is a big no-no for me :P
  8. damn! ...I don't think I'll be able to sleep tonight
  9. mmmmmmm....thanks :D ..couldn't find anything on youtube myself, but this is very very nice indeed
  10. Somebody? Please? (I mean a gameplay video from the demo..) :music_whistling:
  11. Haven't been active on the forums in a while - damn uni work, but umm is it out already? I'm super confused now - didn't see it coming at all!
  12. ragdoll animations are completely unnecessary for this type of game. Waste of time and effort with minimal game quality improvement. no thanks
  13. meh at HAWX2.. ..played the first out of interests and gave up after 2nd mission, because it was just too damn arcady and lame (especially the controlls) - I don't get a sense of achievement after spamming my 100 rockets and taking down whole armies of evil russians/terrorists/chinese/whoever the bad guys were
  14. Oh.. umm - well I think there are only 4 official Black Shark Campaigns - the first is Deployment and 2nd is Georgian Oil War I think... there are also 2 more below that. I'm at the 2nd one from top, which makes it Georgian Oil War
  15. Hey everybody! I've just (nearly) finished my 2nd campaign, 2nd mission - I've destroyed most of the vehicles, etc and was returning to base, to find that my landing gears weren't working anymore and around 200 metres from the landing pad, my engines just seemed to give up on me - not a ring vortex state (or however it's called), since I was going at around 150 kpm, and I was forced to eject, as the probability of doing an autorotation from 150ish metres on rough terrain with no landing gears and me flying, safely was INCREDIBLY low. :megalol: However, that is not the reason for this post... (event though 'tis a good story) After that happened, I decided to have a look at the replay, to see what has happened, however I was quite puzzled while watching it, as things seemed different - the number of vehicles and friendly choppers being destroyed, and the fact that after around 5 minutes of combat in the actual mission I was attacking a convoy of tanks on a road, while in the replay it showed me attacking that convoy alright, however another APC convoy magically appeared out of thin air.. ..what was even worse is what happened after - in the actual mission I went ahead to destroy some more vehicles and get shot by 1 or 2 APC rounds (which probably caused my later crash), however in the replay I got shot down by a Shilka, which I remember to have destroyed in the mission, and crash pretty much straight away, without ejecting - which did NOT happen in the actual mission :huh::noexpression: So I'm quite confused here right now, because aren't replays supposed to be, well replays? - thus replaying everything that happened in mission exactly?
  16. ^^haha good one!
  17. Graphic Options - Cockpit and terrain textures Hi everybody, I'm just thinking that the texture resolution settings in A-10 should be divided into 2 parts - cockpit and outside - unlike in black shark. Why I think that would be a good thing, is that it will enable people with lower-end computers to still run the game with high quality cockpits, while having texture and vehicle resolution much lower. What do you think?
  18. Thanks for all of your replies, I guess time and patience together with a developed method for searching for targets could help, but I still think that it could be harder than in reality. I mean as far as I understand, in real life chopper pilots (and any other pilots) will be constantly communicating with each other, base and maybe ground troops, who will direct and help in identifying targets. I see that this is not represented in Black Shark.
  19. ..much, much smaller nukes - like hand-held nukes
  20. Hi everybody! Been playing Black Shark for a bit now, and got around 15 hours of xp. I've improved in flying, engaging enemies and avoiding missiles (to an extent). However all of this is with LABELS on, which is obviously not realistic at all. My question (sort of) is about how would military helicopter pilots avoid, spot and engage enemy air defences if necessary. As I understand it, having an AA gun hidden in between buildings/vegetation is quite easy with same camo netting and vegetation. And I also think that in most cases such a hidden gun could hardly be spotted by a single pilot, unless he already knows its approximate whereabouts. Another thing that I am not sure about is the amount of tracers that all guns produce in this game - is this similar to real life? Would you actually be able to see AA rounds coming towards you? All of this questions are pretty much for general knowledge, because I have completed the Convoy Hunt mission a few times and always wondered how would anyone be able to complete it without having labels turned on and without knowing where those AA guns are, and not actually being sure about their presence at all.
  21. oh and thanks frederf - looked into DCS controls, but couldn't find the 'interact' command, configuring the joystick software does it just as well, but thanks for the suggestion :)
  22. Thanks for your input everybody and thanks for the answer Dash - didn't even know my joystick has SOFTWARE lol... but now that I gave that I go, using a mouse seems quite a bit easier and faster, however once I get used to trackIR that view may change ofcourse. I think it would be pretty awesome not having to touch the mouse at all
  23. oh, Left Mouse Button - to be able to actually click on buttons/etc while looking around with trackIR
  24. Hey everybody! ..just wondering if this is possible? I just got my trackIR fully ready and all, and the big question (and concern) is if I can map the lmb to joystick or at least keyboard, because if that is not possible, then it kinda defeats the purpose of trackIR altogether. On a side note - trackIR is awesome! I have only had under an hour of experience with it and its still pretty hard to fly with, but the level of immersion just got blow out of proportion here :pilotfly:
  25. haha... thanks again for the explanations! ...and as somebody has asked - I did not read that section of the manual - its waay to big, and I'm just trying to learn the basics here still + having pretty much no free time does not help 8(( ..I am not sure what do you mean by that though: Isn't auto-descent supposed to help and all?
