  1. you are also risking yourself for your own ricochets and you are an easier target when you fly over
  2. it's close, without the reverberation, it's a bit more "crispy" in the video than it is in the sim. In the sim it is more sub woofer like, but from the cockpit, it sounds good and that's good enough for me, after all im in the cockpit when i fire the cannon :)

  4. just out of interest, how does one become a crew chief? or more likely why? im sure it is a very interesting job, and very important too, but i would cry bloody tears every time i saw someone take off knowing that i'll never fly one :( for me, it would be a torture! being so close, but still so far.
  5. you mean the similar smoke that engines run also with? engines use black smoke though, but they mostly shut down too when the smoke gets out.

  9. I was kind of annoyed when the law came here in finland, even tho i always use the seatbelt, but the principle that someone fining me for not protecting MYSELF got me annoyed. Anyway it's only two seconds every time you go in the car. Have you not ever seen the crash test dummy videos what happens to them when not buckled up? it nasty! and it shouldn't happen to anyone, and if the car rolls over, you have about 80% chance to get flung out of the car, or what happens when someone in the back seat is not buckled up in a car crash, it will potentially kill the passenger/driver in the front seat. well who am i to preach but just think about it :) drive safe. ill just leave this here and erm.. go.. :P
  10. I've been trying to get the free camera to ground level for some time now, but it always stops at 15 feet or so. In GA's video there are few scenes where the camera is right at the ground level, does anyone know how to do it? also when i try to zoom the free camera, all it does is that it moves the camera forward, what am i doing wrong? :P

  12. thanks for the mission.. i'll have a go and provide some feedback after Edit: Ok i flew the mission, it was a nice mission, pretty easy and simple, but almost the whole mission i felt like i was alone, because it is a long mission, you could add some ambient nato forces here and there doing their own thing, it would spice up the feeling a bit. also you could add a trigger of some sort for the black hawks to come in when called area clear or something. but like you said its still beta mission, but it has a nice base for an intresting mission :)
  13. that's a very good hint, thanks.. i always pointed the FPI to the start of the runway and the gun cross at the end of the runway.. but that is bit too high i think.. but i have to try your way

  15. the thing with a triangle up, triangle down and a blue circle in it.. left from the HUD. i thought it represents the correct glide path :P what is it there for?

Is the glide path on the hog really that low as it is shown on the left side from the hud? or is it still wip? i'm not a real pilot, but compared tho other sims, that is very low! :) oh and a bonus question what is the landing speed for empty hog with lets say 50% fuel? the landing tutorial isn't working for me :(
  17. you can go to the mission planner and select record avi from the top menu, haven't tried fraps or any other softwares tho.

  20. i have PAC mapped to one of my thumb buttons.. and i get pretty accurate bursts like that.. about the pea shooter thing, the weakest of all, infantry is still standing after my strafe runs, so i concur :noexpression: no problems against tanks or other vehicles
  21. flying without it is like looking through a tube.. well the screen always reduces your field of vision, but track ir does reduce the feeling of looking through a tube. i started DCS just to try something really fast and i was too lazy to set up the track ir for the 10 sec test... ohh it was horrible.. i still get the shivers :D

  23. the startup kinda gets old (for me at least) if i have to do it every 15 minutes, yeah, im not that good shark pilot, i can keep it up in the air, but AAA and SAMs get me every time :P
  24. When you move your stick after you land and shut down your engines, the hydraulic pressure starts to go down and after a while, the stick will respond less and less.
  25. I have been dreaming about a sim that is bit like arma, but a simulator which has several DCS like clients with the depth of DCS series, which would work together. Each for every "aspect". For example you would get an DCS Infantry (lol) or a DCS M1A1 sim which has the ground, vehicle, and other graphical details like arma 2 and another sims for air combat which would have only the rough details of the ground etc like DCS has now so that from air the CPU wouldn't have to load the huge ground details, but they would still work together and form a huge MMO, if you get it what i mean :) But that would need a huge development team, endless amount of resources and a good market.
