  1. Forgive my noobishness and the complete douch bag question but there is some word around that this is not the gold release but the release candidate. For the sake of my brain juice could someone tell me a definate answer? Not a big deal, just would like to know for sure from the higher ups.
  2. First of all, i never stated that a TV was more "HD" than a conventional monitor, it simply doesnt work that way. Now that thats clear.... Computer monitors are no more ahead of the curve than conventional lcd tv's these days as far as pixel count "definition" and refresh rate goes. ALL computer monitors are limited to what resoloution they can produce relative to the pixel count. you CANT get 1080p out of a 1680x1050 screen no more than you can get 1024x768 out of a 1680x1050 screen. Just like you CANT get a 2560x1200 out of a 1080p screen. Like i stated previously, all forms of "HD" are directly reflected by there pixel count and in some circumstances, there refresh rate. Biggest difference between the two currently, Pixel size and form.
  3. sorry to not clarify more but the difference between the two is minimal at best. and therefore closly related in most high definition related fields. you are right, 720p is not 1080i but 720p having the most pure picture. eg, anti-aliasing methods AAX8 in games vs AAX8Q.
  4. Computer LCD's have only been full HD for not longer than there bigger screen TV counterparts. Conventional Monitors have been 720p for a very long time, but not 1080p. HD in the electronic and AV scene is considerd 720p (1280x720pixels) AKA 1080i with quite low refresh rates FULL HD is 1080p (1920x1080pixels) with quite resonable refresh rates up to what some consider ULTRA HD (2560x1200pixels) You will always get a better image out of a FULL HD screen or better a "ULTRA HD" screen. Problem with the "ULTRA HD" screen is that there response time in most models are quite poor, 12ms ect. Most Full HD monitors for gaming are 2ms. Playing on a 42" FULL HD TV is very nice it just depends on the model you choose, the refresh rate of the screen and how far you sit back from it. Only difference between the LCD/LED TV and Monitor is the size of the pixles and the latency, eg. 2ms 5ms 12ms. These days most BIG FULL HD TV'S outperform conventional monitors as far as refresh rates go but dont have no where near the pixel density of 24" 27" and even 32" monitors. Summing up, Its a personel preference and i find playing on my 42" alot more enjoyable than playing on my 27". sit further back from the 42" and you will be very pleasently suprised at how outstanding gaming is on it.
  5. i only get average 30-40 fps on my machine. specs in sig.
  6. we can only wish...... hides in his hole lol
  7. +1 to the topic, even if i were not to implement all of them into the virtual world i reckon it would be a good practice every now and then.
  8. with the expansion of the current Caucasus map, will the greater parts of it be modeled eg ukrain, turkey and further north into russia ? at the moment most of the area is just flat texture tiles. cheers
  9. i missed one, gonna have to go hunting and see if i still have the tack file. was a 12min flight like that aswell........ had the landing gears down just to find out all i had left was a set of chicken legs!!!
  10. It is actually quite easy to land with no wings!! :p

  12. Now this is what i call a productive post, clean precise and informative. It gives us mear mortals an insight into the ED work horse and some of there goals.. +1
  13. Each to his own belief and experiences, Thats the beauty of an opinion, doesnt matter if it counts or not and its yours to have free to share. But without facts, threads like current and others like this http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=64401&page=4it remain the same, views and opinions. A "you think" "i think" scenario and i say the following with the upmost respect, as i say it without knowlege of your past experience but both of our opinions are just that at this stage an opinion, that acording to your post "dont matter". It would be really nice to see the amount of copies that are sold, both black shark and a-10 vs the amount of registered users, still semi active of course. It would give people an idea of how many more there are out there.
  14. That being the case then how can there be forum posts almost certain that the online players make the minority vs offline being the majority? Its all good saying we are a minority in the scheme of things but when not backed by hard facts let alone any facts at all, it makes it a bit hard to believe that there are alot more dudes playing this offline vs online. Online gaming has been an ever evolving evoloution since the release of the the next gen consoles eg, xbox 360 ps3. Aswell as fast broadband internet being more and more readily available to the majority of the public, pc games in my opinion are very very well turning online. DCS is no exception. Especially when the majority of pc games these days require online activation, consumers are almost forced to go online and visit a forum or two for problem solving, therefore introducing them to the community and then in turn they discover Online Play, Its a matter of when not if. "Offline" people wouldn't even know whether the new beta was out without visiting here. In my opinion and with past experiences, granted its only 10yrs worth but none the less, with gaming both on the pc and console i think online is where it is "going to be at" for entertainment and ultimatly human interaction trumps AI interaction any day and more and more people are seeing that at a rapid rate. Pioneers of this ONLINE "craze" are MMORPG games. Hate to say it, but WOW "world of warcraft" started this evoloution and more and more game's are following suit with focusing on online at a scary pace. In my opinion and after discussions with people both online and offline (including my mum ), Players are looking for more out of there games these days, and online is where they are looking. Again, the DCS franchise is by no means an exception this. Cheers, Aaron
  15. those statistics ""somewhere" would be very appreciated if you had them, or could atleast point to them.
