Next DCS (US) Fixed Wing Aircraft Wish List
Rambler91 replied to diecastbg's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Well, Cold War age didn't have fancy avionics, but , imho, analog equimpent is exciting to operate. Basicaly, radars are "wysiwyg", meaning, all you gonna see is small bright spot, and you don't get much data like in F-15, merely just azimuth, range and closure rate.. (if range indicator is rotating clockwise, target is moving away, if not, it is closing to you). -
Deadman, you think that i'm complaining about how textures are ugly???  I asked, if Nevada is portrayed, does that means that (in ingame world, not real) Russia invaded US (just like in World in Conflict)? And i was wrong, it is used as a training grounds. Looks like we're about to land at Kobuleti again (Flaming Cliffs 2 and DCS:Black Shark region :noexpression: )

One thing about this game bugs me. All screenshot are, or near Nellis AFB, near Las Vegas, Nevada. Can i assume that the Russian Federation has invaded US, or screenshots are purely for show-off?

I think that this would help: The higher pressure of a fluid, the higher boiling point is (e.g. water on pressure of 1 atmosphere has a boiling temperature of 100 degrees of celsius, but if pressure is on 2 atmosphere or, two times that of a normal outdoor pressure, boiling temperature is 120 degrees of celsius) So, if compression pressure of an oil in hydraulic system is higher, the oil could get as much as 300-400 degrees of celsius (or more, i don't know specifics about Russian, nor US aircraft) and still retaining enough energy to convert it's energy to useful mechanic work.

Well, why don't you start some random mission and fly low over the sea (and rivers), and post a track recording... From here, it's just seems like a very bright day. No offense.. Regards...

My vote goes for the F-14 Tomcat and/or F/A-18 Hornet.. Reasons: -F-14 Tomcat is retired form service, and such has large q'ts ov available data (well, USA unclassified A-10C, so i'm assuming that F-14 will be no problem) -Almost everyone likes Top Gun ;) -F/A-18 Hornet also has fair amount of unclassified data, and everyone who likes F-14, also likes Hornet, and not to mention that Hornet is more versatile that Tomcat.. Well, that's my opinion.. -
Well, mission generator is a step towards dynamic campaign.. And i think that is better to take things slow and steady, than just to drop unfinished product full of bugs.. Thirdwire (Wings Over...) included the dynamic campaing and ended up in a fiasco.. What ever you do, things are always same.. So, my vote goes to the mission generator..

RWR- answer from a real mig-29 pilot how it works
Rambler91 replied to Suhoj27's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Why? -
There's a Su-25TM flyable in Flaming Cliffs 2.0  Well, editing .lua files would help, but in that way, you will fail on integrity check when trying to connect to online server..

Here the are the photos i promised: I found some more pilot photos, but when i use them in a logbook, they are either squashed or streched... Desktop.rar

Spring Tempest (Su-27) campaign
Rambler91 replied to Rambler91's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Why don't you post a track record of the mission? -
Spring Tempest (Su-27) campaign
Rambler91 replied to Rambler91's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Hey, removing that static Yak helped. Blowing things up could cause mission failure, and i don't want to play that mission more than it's needed.. Many thanks 'n' regards.. -
Which Air superiority fighter aircraft you fly ?
Rambler91 replied to mig29's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Well, i like speed, and with same weight ( fuel levels are such that both aircraft weigh sumulary as much as it possible) and on a same height and level flight, F-15C could outrun Su-27 by 600 km/h (till F-15C comes ti 2000 km/h, Su 27 is not near 1400 km/h)... Also, F-15C had damaged hydraulics and was leaking fuel... -

Hm, i noticed that another plane... Could i blow it up instead??? :joystick: -
In Wings Over Vietnam, there were some outsanding pilot pictures.. I'll put them here in a few days..

1-2min wait before a mission starts
Rambler91 replied to Sir Charcharro's topic in Bugs and Problems
I had the same problem, and in extreme cases (which is mine) only re-installing OS woud help. Looks like that a Win7 is more prone to OOSS (old operating system sindrome :smilewink:) than XP. Also, if you have 2 hard drives, dedicate one of them to LOFC 2 (games generaly), and on the other fill up with music and other garbage. -
@toocool, google it, you may find something. And for that "airport" matter, just place your waypoint over it, and in "Action" field select "Land" mode for the a/p on which you want to land. From t/o airpost, set "Take-Off". Cheers.. :smartass::smilewink: :pilotfly:

In my opinion, backup whole "Logbook" folder. Just in case...

How is possible that F-15C skids 14 km on it's belly from airstrip? And when i'm at it, look:
-
What's really annoying is flight computer weakness.. It takes no more than a few hits in the wing to take out your systems..

When SARH is launched ( in this case R-27 ER) he is tracking bogey. If, from some reason, launching platform loses it's radar lock, INS comes in. INS works by remembering last input data form launching aircaft for the bogey (attitude, speed, heading) and the missile will continue it's flight based on that data. An if the bogey retains same these values, there is great chance that a missile hit will occur without renewed radar lock. So, when launching aircraft loses lock with it's SARH, change all of those 3 parameters (and send him a "gift" in form of AMRAAM or other active radar missile). I'll hope that thiss will help you to shake off those nasty little buggers.. :smilewink:

Spring Tempest (Su-27) campaign
Rambler91 replied to Rambler91's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Thanks for answering.. Oh man, and i was hoping that i was overlooking something. Well, still there's a F-15C campaign.. Thanks again. -
Has anyone played (flyed would be more precised :smilewink:) this campaign? I am interessed in mission where you must do a CAP, and after steerpoint 3, you must intercept an Yak-40. What do i need to do after it land back on Batumi? Mission control says that i need to stay long enough so the Mi-8 could land and investigate, but it never reaches Batumi. It just approaches to approximaly 20 km, an then turns away, while his escorts (Mi-24V) circle around airfield, and they leave too. And nothing happens. There's a 2 flight's of F-16's (one pair is 50 km dead south, and other one isn't far from first one), and even when i engage them, mission control would remain silent: no word that i crossed in Turkish airpsace.
