  1. btw, they are pretty damned big... some little fighters, or multi role, like the F-5, are tiny, compared in size, F-111 is pretty big... Mirage is pretty damned big... just sayin'. Yes totally different roles... just in general... sizes are so many, and some may not realize the sizes in real life...

The Mirage III/5 is very similar in size to the F-5 (they're both pretty small). Mirage 5 is the bigger dimensions-wise, and it is longer than the F5 by roughly a metre.

  2. You'd be surprised at what you would do after the training. Most people will follow the training because it's ingrained.

The takeoff emergencies are briefed before takeoff too, and the initial actions are pretty straightfoward in the Hawk (upward vector, what have I got? If you can't maintain speed or alt then you're mostly stepping out - the potential to force land it is limited). All helps.

  3. An obviously jocular comment will always bring the white knights out of hiding, audax. Just pretend flight simming warrants such a response, make no sudden movements as it may cause the forum user to instinctively attack you, and back away slowly and cautiously.

  4. Give it a rest, already. The -21 will be on your hard-drive soon. Sit back, relax... and have a coffee (real coffee, not Starbucks!).

    Coffee and BACON anyone?????? ;-)

Haha, well this isn't really the case for everyone is it? No it won't be on my harddrive for a very, very long time unless it releases this month. Some might say that a day or two wouldn't do the MiG-21 any justice anyway and they'd be right. Ah well :)

  5. Tomcat? Leatherneck are slaves to single seat delta wing fighters. Here's an educated guess for project 2 (I use the term "educated guess" rather than "confirmed" in order to preserve some of the surprise for Leatherneck's upcoming announcement ;))

Note: Post not to be taken seriously...

  6. I wonder if the MiG-21 can out turn the F-15 in a dogfight....

Here's another obvious one: BFM like rubbish and you're still going to get shwacked no matter how impressive your mount is...

  7. Damn right there's gonna be some dead Eagles and lack of challenge thought it may be, I'd consider it my obligation to 'tidy' up the sky of the odd A-10C.

  8. Hell yeah. This one will make a lot of people happy.

    Edit:

It's an awesome plane to work on, but I'm still waiting for the Hawk...all these planes in the pipeline but no actual release yet.

I agree. Aircraft keep getting announced yet we still haven't seen the release of even the first fast jet module.

  9. there is a lot of people that want theF F-18 stick, but there iis a lot for other sticks. i would put

out the ones that have a plane out or going to be out soon. my two cents would be an A-4 stick

and throttle. Lots of info and pics. easy to make. flight model is close to being finished for DCS. please consider.

There's an A-4 for DCS? With an almost complete flight model? Link please ;)

  10. Can anyone out there get any dimensions from the Hawk or Tiffy cockpit. Im looking to build my own simulator but cant find any specs.

If I could one or two reference sizes I could make up the reat, not looking for it to me centimeter accurate but perhaps a fre of the panels with dimensions and switch references so I can extrapolate from there?

    Thanks

Which Hawk? By the looks of things (your loc) the 127?

  11. I'd say it will be released at the same time as the F-86.

    Who knows. Maybe?

I haven't been one to get heavily into release date discussions in the past, but all those months (two years?) ago when the MiG-21 was announced, and shortly thereafter the 3rd party modules that came after it, I thought (jokingly, but now in retrospect perhaps foolishly) as long as one of the 3rd party fast jets is released before I leave in July 2014 I'll still be able to fly it!

:( Its almost amusing to see the release dates shack that month after all this time! On the bright side, by the time I'm back there should be quite a few new aircraft I guess?

Edit: Sorry if that seems like a bit of a whinge. Years ago as a falconeer I couldn't imagine we'd have this coming, so I am now more educated on dev time required and nonetheless very grateful to the 3rd party teams!
