  1. I'm just going to say, that as much as I love the Tomcat, I'm starting to become exasperated with trying to learn proper carrier landing technique in it, and the invisible AoA indexer is one of the largest reasons why. The other indicators of AoA in the Tomcat's cockpit are not accurate. This is known (and accurate to the real aircraft, from what I have heard). The "E" in the HUD is especially useless. The AoA tape isn't much better. Sure, I can land on the carrier without these things - if I say "Screw it, I'm going to land however I want," I can trap every single time. But I'm trying to learn to do it the right way. And the indexer not being visibile makes it a lot harder. Proper technique depends on an accurate AoA reading. Even more so when you're trying to learn it. And so, not having it is really, really frustratinng. So I can't speak for anyone else, but I can tell you that my problem isn't unwillingness to learn. It's that not having the right tools impedes my ability to learn it correctly. From what you said, I kinda get the impression you don't really care about that? But I do. And I for one would really like to see fixing this made a priority..
  2. I definitely have a new favorite, after a particularly bad landing (all my carrier landings are bad, really, though I am slowly getting better at it)... Jester: Any harder and you'll have direct hangar access!
  3. I know, right? I don't mind him making jokes while refueling, but the backseat driving can be a bit maddening. (Don't get me wrong, I really like Jester, just this one thing drives me a little nuts).
  4. Just a really minor feature request for something down the line: Can we get an option to ask Jester not to backseat drive during inflight refueling? I don't mind the jokes and stuff, but when he tries to give me directions it invariably causes me to screw up my approach (usually by leading me to look at the drogue, which is the last thing I want to be doing).. I don't want to tell him to shut up completely, because having him read off the fuel state while connected is very useful! I suppose this will probably stop being an issue as I get better at inflight refueling, but while I'm still trying to master it, it's a little maddening.
  5. Just wanted to add my voice to this one. Can barely see the indexer on max brightness (can't see the red light at all). Makes learning to land this thing properly kinda hard, since the "E" in the HUD lags.
  6. Thanks for this info. I'm not good enough for multiplayer yet (I am quite certain real players will thoroughly trounce me until I have a lot more practice flying), so I will probably do this so I can effectively play the single-player campaigns for it.
  7. I wish I had seen this before buying the Sabre. It's possibly the most fun plane to fly that I have, but not being able to fight it effectively kinda really hurts its value.
