  1. I completely uninstalled Open Beta, removed all the files in the Saved Games folder, cleaned the registry, and rebooted. I downloaded a fresh installation of the Open Beta, added the modules and aircraft, and loaded the game. I set the graphical settings to high and opened a quick mission in the Normandy map. The sim worked as intended. I had NOT added the autoexec.cfg file. I shut the game down and loaded another mission on the Normandy map. The map and mission loaded correctly. I changed the skin on the aircraft, change occurred as expected; no crashes. I haven't added back any mods, and my suspicion now is that the problem was mod-caused. Log attached.
  2. DCS Open Beta has crashed, as I noted, but is "shutting down" in Task Manager but not quitting. I cannot terminate it manually. Looks like a reboot is required.
  3. Spitfire disabled, loaded the same mission, same failure. Before I saw your message I had both cleaned and repaired the Open Beta, started the game, and created a fast mission on the Normandy map. The game crashed without creating the mission. I also removed Tacview Both Logs are attached. Logs.rar dcs.log-20180904-144214.zip
  4. 21153 still crashes to desktop after every load attempt. I removed all the content of the MODS folder so the game was pure, still no joy. The mission I was loading is a simple touch and go at Tangmere on the Normandy map. Logs attached. Logs.rar
  5. I had reverted to 20601 on the open beta because of the crash to desktop with the Normandy map. Seeing the request to add the autoexec.cfg to the game I updated to 21153. Starting a mission on the Normandy map again resulted in a CTD. Adding the autoexec.cfg step didn't work to resolve the issue.
  6. Just to point out, the issue is the same with the Normandy map, not just the Persian Gulf map (which I do not have) or Nevada (which I do but do not uise). Freeze and CTD with 21107 as with the earlier beta update.
  7. The 352nd Virtual Fighter Group, now flying (still) IL-2, is eagerly looking forward to DCS WWII. This is our 14th year. Would that our fifteenth find us flying DCS WWII!
  8. I got mine yesterday as well. Very, very nice. Even more thanks to you, Deadman.
  9. Count me in as well, 1 set. How does one go about placing the order?
  10. I've wrestled with this issue for some time trying to help a squadmate, and read this thread, together with many others, trying to find a solution. My Cougar works fine, and always has, in Windows 7. My squadmate, no matter what he tried, could not get away from the "The program can't start because sttubedevice203.dll is missing" message. It was particularly frustrating because it didn't seem as if the file WAS missing; it was there to be found in the "drivers' folder. Where it wasn't was in <System Drive>\Windows\SysWOW64. It should have been. Once the file was copied from the drivers folder to SysWOW64, the message went away and the HOTAS files worked fine. I hope this solution works for others, too.
