Hello all! I really don't have much time to spend on my pit these months... Just a really tiny thing I did: a very dirty DZUS like rail to maintain my real IFF panel.

Very nice frogger!!!! Keep up the good work.

Not necesserily. I guess it is not so easy to build a pit which is 100% the same as the virtual one. Think about the perspectives and the fact that the virtual cockpit is not always at the same dimension that the real one. I see lot of trial and errors in the conception. Another solution could be a geodesic dome covered with green fabric all over your cockpit. You can add a camera (2 for 3D perception) on you VR goggles which has an optic with the same field of view than the field of view you have in the simulator. And you can use a software which insert the virtual view wherever you have green color on the camera image. The final image is pushed in your VR goggles. Just another idea...

I was not particularly convinced about building a F/A-18 pit ... until I read this entire thread. OpenHornet team seems to do a fantatsic job and I am very interested to see where it will go. Since i am planning to buy a Shapeoko I think this pit would be a wonderful module for my modular cockpit, after a bit of tweaking. @ Bloop: I was so happy to read that you will rebuild the Iris software to make it compatible with Raspberry, this just what I need for my Mirage 2000 pit. Will it be customizable (as the original Iris) to be compatible with all DCS modules?

Hy Myst, Yes I wil try to replicate the entire stick column. I want to add a force feedback by connecting my accuforce steering wheel to the pitch axes an another motor to the roll axis. Dimebug will release the throttle handle but I don't know when.

I designed some "clips" and printed them. It is very handy in order to to have a neat wiring in an extrusion pit. I also installed a temporary stick.

I started to integrate the electronics in the throttle. For now there is just the "Stop" switch and a Hall sensor for the handle position.

Amen! And if the client could run on a Raspberry Pi it would be Heaven!!!

Oups, sorry Marc, I missed your message. You can take all the measurement you want on the 3D model: https://cad.onshape.com/documents/409d0213bc745f590aff401e/w/1e61ca9434e43d94050f5730/e/62977e51d210b423c703e0e7

Thanks guys! I am very happy that my model is helping you Lobinjaevel, this is why I share my work. It is motivating to know that it is used by other people!
