  1. I can see how much work has gone into this map and I appreciate that. I do however wish the developers had consulted the many keen WWII buffs on these message boards regarding the layout of the British airfields and their building designs. They do look to be rather "made up" affairs. I know many of us would have been happy to provide the details and plenty of photo evidence.
  2. Nice job on the map guys. WWII runways didn't have white lines painted down the middle of them. I haven't seen a single period wartime photo showing such a feature.
  3. Thanks for the advice peachmonkey. I tried that and it's still the same I'm afraid. I'm wishing I never went the Steam route now, it really is flaky. Here's a quick screenshot - surely I can expect more than those horrible field textures? It looks like something I played 30 years ago.
  4. I purchased the Normandy 2.0 pack but I don't think it has installed correctly. Is there any way I can tell it's there please? I use Steam and have the Open Beta option selected. Here are some screenshots of my menus. When I tried the "Free flight - 06 June 1944", the scenery looked pretty unimpressive. Looking forward to playing this but getting a bit frustrated. I think it's probably something to do with Steam. Thanks!
  5. Not sure if I'm lacking technique when trying to keep ball centred during manoeuvres. Any advice or training available please? Things like, do I apply rudder in anticipation of the turn or in reaction to the ball moving? Do I keep the rudder position after centering the ball or go back to neutral rudder? What rudder action when wanting to come out of a turn? I often find the ball doing weird stuff and I lose coordination for a short time. Thanks!
  6. I've recently returned to flight sims after many years. I'd just like to say how impressed I am with the DCS P-47 and DCS environment. The flight model feels very authentic, the systems modelling is incredible and very rewarding to master and as for the clouds, wow, they're simply jaw dropping. I've never had to fly through thick clouds and experience that disorientation or cope with the problems of navigation and having to catch glimpses through cloud breaks. Very very immersive stuff. Well done team!
