  1. A few more are up including the start of a small mini-series covering the AGM-65. Feel free to visit and check out everything else that is available: https://www.youtube.com/user/4023446
  2. Number 12 is up covering Sensor Point of Interest and some neat things you can do with it.
  3. A new video is up covering Sensor of Interest in the A-10. Feel free to check them all out in the first post or, better yet, go straight to the Youtube channel to see this and everything else that is available. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCChA7JzaWoakPbvpmUzMH5g
  4. You're right of course Viper but the rest of the HUD symbology does not quite add up does it? There is no reason for the MRS and DRC symbology not to be displayed with the SPI at that location and the time to release should be somewhere around 20 I would think. I know this has happened to me before on a couple of perfectly good CBU set-ups but I didn't bother trying to duplicate it. Coming off dry and re-designating the SPI has always fixed it for me. :) Just to clarify what I believe we are talking about, it is more than the "windshield wiper" effect you get when over correcting your steering in CCRP. It actually feels like you are being steered to something directly behind you so corrections have the opposite effect you are going for. Hard to explain... :)
  5. allmhuran, I know exactly what you mean and have been in that situation before. Your HUD is set as the sensor of interest (SOI) so it is very possible you made the HUD's TDC the sensor point of interest (SPI) inadvertently. If that were the case, you were no longer being guided to the point the targeting pod was tracking and were getting steering cues towards some point outside the HUD field of view, possibly behind you. The last time I remember that happening to me was while recording a video on CBUs so I wouldn't rule out a bug. But, as you say, that sort of thing is to be expected, even on the real thing.
  6. One more is up covering the LAAP, Low Altitude Autopilot. I'm out of town for the next month so I will pick up with these again towards the end of May... Thanks again everybody.
  7. Thanks a lot everybody, I really appreciate it. I'll try to keep the forums updated but your best bet for notification of updates is to subscribe to the channel. Fakum, it is just the default TrackIR profile with no changes. I tried to tweak the settings once but I never found anything I liked and gave up. The key, I think, is to leave everything alone and just let your brain adjust over time. It didn't feel right for the first day or two but then it suddenly became seamless and natural. It is the same thing with curves and other settings for the joystick. I don't touch those at all any more either.
  8. The first videos in a series called "On the Range" are complete and are available on Youtube. These are 10-15 minute tutorial videos covering whatever topic I happen to be focusing on at the moment. Right now, the focus is on systems and weapons employment in the Flaming Cliffs 3 series of aircraft as well as employment of the A-10C Warthog. The entire playlist can be viewed here... ... and here is a sample of the level of detail you get: If you find these useful be sure to check out my complete fly-through of A-10C Warthog single missions available here: A-10C Warthog Single Missions A-10C Single Mission with Combined Arms They feature several hours of A-10C Warthog gameplay with detailed commentary from the perspective of an experienced flight simmer provided throughout. 10. Three more are available with a few more for the C-model in the pipeline. Thanks again to everybody who checked them out.
  11. Thanks Snachito. :) Yeah, I do not know when it started doing that but there is a definite nose down trim when guns are selected in 1.2.7. I'm not sure about 1.2.8 but I suspect you are right; it seems like a "poor man's PAC" that was put in to help control trim in a dive. I would usually put in about that much trim anyway prior to rolling in so I am sure it was an intentional addition to make tracking targets easier on us. I haven't really tested it out but my impression is that the T-55s (or any tank for that matter) go down on one pass if you get in close enough from a high dive angle. The trouble is that the closer you get, the more effective they are at returning fire. Two or three passes like I demonstrated here usually does the trick. I'm not saying that is right or wrong, its just the way it seems to work. :)

  13. Thanks a lot Ali. All four parts are now up...
  14. I am a little late but I recorded a Combined Arms mission kind of in response to this. I agree, Combined Arms can be a lot of fun in single player! But, I say it all much better in the videos available here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=1769005#post1769005
  15. Here is a full mission flown using the DCS: Combined Arms module and the A-10C Warthog. I show the basic functionality of Combined Arms by directing a company sized force up a valley in order to take a couple of objectives. This is done while also providing CAS from the cockpit of an A-10. Also, be sure to check out my A-10A campaign and A-10C single mission videos available here: A-10A - The Valley Campaign A-10C Warthog - Single Missions
  16. Folks, This is an A-10C Warthog single mission known as CSAR flown in the DCS: A-10C module to DCS: World. These videos fall into the AAR category with commentary provided throughout. The idea behind these is to verbalize what I do during mission planning and mission execution to give new players (or experienced players) an idea of what to do and what a full mission looks like. Sometimes just seeing someone else go through the motions of planning and flying a mission from beginning to end can make a big difference in terms of enjoying your own missions. These videos are viewable all the way up to 1080p using the YouTube player so they should look good even when viewed full-screen. Requests for clarification of anything I go over or recommendations for additional topics are welcome. If you found this mission helpful there are missions called Smerch Hunt and Hideout as well as a full 16 mission campaign flown in the A-10A available for viewing. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=101883 http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=101404 http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=99486 CSAR Mission Video
  17. Thanks a lot folks and nice guide Derelor! Very useful. DayGlow, I just recorded the CSAR mission but, yeah once you have flown it a few times it is easy to fall into the trap of knowing and anticipating threats. I tried to take a different approach and flew it way more aggressively than I normally would just to experience a different solution to the problem. It should be posted by tomorrow.
  18. Folks, This is an A-10C Warthog single mission known as Hideout flown in the DCS: A-10C module to DCS: World. These videos fall into the AAR category with commentary provided throughout. I realize the videos are a little long and no normal human being wants to listen to me talk for hours at a time. I will provide time references to major events so you will be able to pick and choose what you want to see. 19. Thanks Zeke. I will probably record another one this afternoon and will be sure to go through the full landing and shutdown. Granted, everything that happens between crew chief disconnect and crew chief re-connect is just an educated guess on my part but I figure I am in the right ballpark. ;) It took a while for what you were saying to sink in but you are absolutely right. The CCIP Release Option selected through the IFFCC menu only applies to CCIP. You will still be in either 5 mil or 3/9 mode for a CCRP release but the mode depends strictly on the weapon that is selected. The IFFCC setting does not matter in that case. That is awesome because it gives me one less thing I have to think about when setting up for attacks. After watching everything again, the Mk-82 hit just outside the pod's field of view and, according to the debrief, actually killed the guys on the ground. That explains why I couldn't get my wingman to attack them... I have no clue what happened to the GBU-12 but suspect it had something to do with turning the IFFCC off and then back on earlier in the mission. I actually don't mind missing with those every now and then since a "no-guide" is a fairly common occurrence.

  21. Thanks almonds. I use the Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS. I do have one correction to make from the first video. I called the mission designer out for using "attrite" instead of "attrit" during the mission briefing. It turns out that attrite is an accepted alternate spelling of attrit. I am at Red Flag at Nellis for a couple of weeks and I looked it up after a briefer at a mass brief used attrite in one of the slides. Now, the briefer in question did pronounce it wrong. It is pronounced as if the e were not there no matter what spelling is used. Needless to say, I did not stand up and correct him!
  22. All 16 missions of the campaign are now posted. I hope some of you found them useful, especially if you are new to flight simulations. Sometimes just seeing someone else go through the motions of planning and flying a mission from beginning to end can make a big difference. This was just a week and a half snapshot of flying done by someone who had not flown for several years. I read over Andy Bush's articles on A-10 employment again in the week or two since I finished and have spotted a few things I would have done a little differently if I had it to do over again. I am sure a lot of you have some different tactics, techniques, and procedures you would have used as well. I am still happy with most of what I described in real-time during the missions but I am glad to have a good civil discussion with anybody who has different ideas. Thanks again for watching.
  23. Mission 6 is up. I will definitely revisit this campaign at some point in light of the new A-10 cockpit and flight model that was just announced. Everybody keep in mind that this is not the finished product you are seeing.
  24. Thanks again... Mission 5 is up. I have flown all the way up to mission 10 and still have a little ways to go. The campaign is looking like at least 12 - 15 missions now and the missions keep getting tougher and tougher. Everybody feel free to discuss, debate, or nit-pick anything you see me do. If you have a tactic or technique you would like to see me try, just let me know. I am open to suggestions, especially as the defenses start to tighten up and I look for better ways to get in and out of the target areas.
  25. Mission 4 is up...
